Done it a few times. Working on it now. Every time I've started back was because I was drinking and wanted to smoke. Gonna be a long football season without alcohol, bit if I gotta do it.....

Nicotine patches are what worked for me. Don't go off-brand, get the NicoDerm.

I laid a pack of Marlboro with 6 cigs in it on my dresser one night in 1995 and never smoked another one. My 8 yr old son had started crying that day when I lit one up, saying he didn’t want me to die. That did it for me.
I used lozenges, gum, and patches for about two months to ease the withdrawal.

I used to smoke a pipe. Incredibly difficult, did it cold turkey. That was 30 years ago.

But yes, everyone who dies of lung cancer quits smoking.

I was a pack a day smoker for 20+ years. About 5 years ago I caught pneumonia and didn't want a cigarette for about 5 days. At that point I decided to try and quit using pneumonia as my jump start. I did use the patches for a couple of months and still to this day chew nicotine gum from to time when stressed.

I did it many years ago.
I would go for a jog in the morning when I woke and would do some from of exercise when the urge came on. I found week #2 was the worst for me. Good luck to you. There was no such thing as patches or gum when I did it. It’s a very difficult journey. I fell a couple of times before being successful. I reached a point where cigarettes were nasty and smoking bars were nasty. Keep up the fight. It is difficult.

I smoked for around 16 years and have quit for 3 months now. Patches are the only thing that worked for me and it took a few try’s. It makes it a lot easier when you have someone to quit with you

First few days are hard as hell. It does get easier once you break the habit. It's a habit as well as an addiction.

I vaped for a while like a douchebag. It actually helped, and doesn't make you hack, but that's just me.

Once you're clean, you will feel a LOT better. It's worth it.

I was a weekend smoker for years, only smoking when I was drinking. It got to the point where I couldn’t tell if I was smoking so I can drink or drinking so I can smoke. I decided to quit cold turkey and haven’t had 1 cigarette since. Here’s a few things to keep in mind: the first 2 weeks are the worst so keep busy, the cravings may subside but they never go away, taking a drag here and there sets you back to square one, find something that occupies your attention when you have a craving (I used bubble gum and Altoids). You can do it but you have to want to do it

Science and the deep state says smoking kills. Take that for whatever it's worth.

Allen Carr's Easy Way to Stop Smoking

This did the trick for me, better than Chantix or nicotine replacement or anything else. You can get the PDF for free on Google, easy to read while still smoking, wake up next day and never have one (or a craving) again.

Used patches. The biggest trigger is being around people that smoke. If you can get it totally out of your life it’s so much easier.

I was a pack a day smoker for 31 years. Quit 7 years ago. If you're good and ready, Chantix will help. It blocks the nicotine uptake receptors in the brain, and makes cigarette smoke taste nasty. After that first month, I lost all cravings for a cigarette. One of the best decisions I ever made. Food started to taste better, feel better, no shortness of breath, etc.

Good luck!

Is that part of the science the deep state believes? The reason I’m asking is they pick what’s for their benefit and ignore the rest.

I've been popping zyn or zyn-like pouches for about a month. They work pretty well, but if I start to go on a drinking tear, I'll break down and buy a pack. No desire to smoke outside of that, though, and I'm not going to beat myself up for smoking a few once or twice a month.

Only the deep state has enough reach to force a company to put a you will die warning on their own product. Take it for what it's worth.
