Looking to put in a pool. Standard size rectangular with hot tub, heater, decking etc. How much am I looking at here? $50-$65,000? Any recommendations in New Orleans area? Salt water vs chlorine? What is your decking ... Kool deck, travertine, brick, etc? Thx

More like 80k. You're better off find a house for sale with one already built. They add zero value to the price per sq foot when you sale so it's a waste of money. And you won't use it as much as you think

Put one in Destrehan a year and a half ago. Have hot tub, heater, large travertine deck with brick accents. Also have a brick wall with 3 sheer descent waterfalls. Cost me 51k. Used Allen Bryant based out of Destrehan. You can find him on Facebook. Allens pools in the search. He was great and his prices can’t be matched.

We put one in almost three years ago.

$49k.

650 sq. ft., bubblers, wall fountains, zero entry, and heater.

I'll try to find a picture to post.

Serious question, are there parts of NOLA you just can't put a pool in the ground because of the water table?

Some friends of ours put in an inexpensive pool recently by burying a shipping container in their yard and installing a liner and a deck. It isn't perfect but it is a pool and it didn't cost much at all. Google shipping container pools.

Putting in a 600 sq/ft gunite, saltwater pool w/o hot tub. It has travertine coping with cool deck and a heater/chiller for less than $70k. The hot tub adds about $15k which wasn’t worth it to me.

What if you have money to blow and like pools. I’m in my pool every day for about 6 months of the year. We’re always entertaining. It’s great. I’m about to smoke some meat and hang out in the pool, now.

Oh... mine was about $50k... jacuzzi, water features, fiber glass, chlorine

The majority of them from Shoppers Choice, although I purchased my Primo Oval XL privately (used) and Hoshizaki ice maker from Katom.

Sweet set up! I’m thinking of scrapping the hot tub to save some cash. How much you drop on that outdoor kitchen/hang out area?

In between $70 - $85K. I stopped counting. Seriously.

Seriously, just get a freight container that’s been retrofitted to be a pool. It’s cheap, gets the job done, and is mobile.

I have spoken to a few people who live near the Mississippi River who couldn’t dig to install the pool until the river went below a certain level.

Hot tube in Louisiana is a total waste of money IMO FWIW TBH.
