How did all that come about? And looking back on it, what do you think you could have done to better conceal it?
Asking for a friend.

Same here buddy. I was binging at the end. I’d go on streaks of a fifth of vodka a day for 30 days, then sober for a few weeks, do it again. Black out for days. It was terrible.
5.5 years sober now. Thank God, those first ‘attempts’ at sobriety were terrible.

It’s been about 10 hours since I’ve had a sip of alcohol. Pretty good run.

I was stupid and look at it on my work phone thinking my wife wouldn’t find out.
I wouldn’t conceal it. The best thing that ever happened to me was getting help with my addiction. It has already cost me way too much. I didn’t want it to cost me more.
That shite is evil and will destroy your brain and life if you let it.

I joke about it, but you're right, it's pretty damn terrible on many different levels.

3 years and not a drop.
Woke up one morning in Afib, researched possible causes and haven't had a drink since.

I can’t remember the last drop of alcohol I’ve had, probably 6 months ago I had a couple beers? And before that probably a year since I drank?

One and half years sober and it's awesome. Life is so much better than when I was living at the bottom of a bottle.

I finally gave up alcohol in 2017.
I feel much better now without it.
Stay with it and you will too. Congratulations on your decision to stop drinking booze .

Sounds like you had a hell of a Mardi Gras 2019.

Done it a few times. Ranging from a month all the way up to 6 months off. I try to take a break at least once a year.
After a couple weeks in you can really tell how much better you feel.
Kicking around the idea of a full year for next attempt.
