No, I get the feeling of potential non-satisfaction, because if I climbed one to see what was there, I would want to climb the next for the same reason. And I have a feeling I would never want to stop.

So I dont live around mountains.

Except Mt Driskell. Which is probably snow covered now.

We have tidewater and mountains, our beaches are just a bit different here. Few sandy ones, mainly rocky coastline.

It's the best of both worlds though.

That's where the Louisiana alpine skiing team trains. You can summer ski on the glacier on the East side.

What elevation do you start at? Our hikes start at 10K ft here.

I had an incident in the mountains of West Virginia and it was t pleasant. Driving through steep mountain roads to get someone to the emergency room.that was a trio of just more visceral danger because the roads were so bad and the driver was so nervous to to the ill person, we were worried we’d tip off down the mountain

As long as you stay on 77, 79, or 64, WV is a beautiful state to drive through. Once you get off the interstate, all bets are off.

It is the hollers that are the creepy part of Appalachia. Sound of fiddle music echoes forever in the valleys between 'dem hills.

You're getting shite on for this, but the concept of mountains being places to avoid is not so foreign. In ancient times mountains were seen as the homes of gods (Mt. Olympus), monsters (yeti), and dark spirits. Mountain climbing wasn't even a thing until about 200 years ago. If you said you were going climb a mountain, people back then would assume you were going mad.

The loneliness (solitude) of the Mountains are one of the big attractions for mountain people.

I don’t like mountains.

I don’t like heights or being inland. Makes me feel trapped.

I'm not sure. I've never been comfortable in tall buildings or bridges but love hiking in the mountains. Elevators really freak me out too.

We went to the Grand Canyon a few times, and I would walk precariously next to the edge or seek out a dangerous outcropping to sit on and it never frightened me one bit.
I admit, some of the places I went weren't very smart.
But, the times I've taken gondola trips or rode certain ski lifts, I was much more afraid.

Mountains are awesome. I hate heights, but overall they’re great to look at and explore
