I have a first round phone interview coming up. Anything out if the norm I could expect? I am assuming mostly situational questions, details on projects I have worked on etc.

First phone interview is basically a personality quiz. Good luck. Dont say anything stupid.

These types of questions are usually asked during the face to face.

They’re going to want to know a quick rundown of your past educational and work experience, then a couple of questions to get to know you. Call should last about 10-15 minutes.

I used to work at CVX...there isn't a standard interview template that all business groups company wide use.

Give conscience answers, have some questions to ask the person on the other end of the line.

There are about 500 different job titles within the company--depends on what you are interviewing for I suppose.

well its owned by Venezuela which is upside down right now so, even though you may "think" you are far enough away to be insulated from all of that, at any point in the government transition and restructuring, you may lose your job, get transferred, get a raise and promotion, or company restructuring means you never see a dime of any money owed to you.

so there is that to think about

They will likely try to throw a question at you, you don't expect. Don't react in away that will make them question you.
