met some Irish and Australian people doing it. I found it a little weird that they were drunk as frick while in the midst of a religious pilgrimage.

Same here. I know a few guys that did about 3 years ago. They said it was an awesome experience.

I am 60 and my job prohibits me from taking 4-6 weeks off. I will have to do it when I retire. I’m not sure when that will be, but the longer I put it off, the more my chances at a Camino go down.

Dale “Grey Beard” Sanders became the oldest person to thru-hike
the Appalachian Trail in 2017, completing the roughly 2,200-mile trek at age 82. He held that title until 2021, when his lifelong friend and fellow AT legend MJ “ Nimblewill Nomad” Eberhart took it in 2021 at age 83.

Never too late. The AT is considered one of the most challenging, so the CdS should be ok. If you don't like camping there are places to stay along the way, the initial elevation gain is the most challenging, and after that it's mostly "flat."

I'm a little long in the tooth to do this but sounds like a great thing to do.

Do they allow scooters on the trail?

Scooters probably couldn't handle the terrain. They do allow bicycles.

You don’t have to walk the entire thing in one shot. Some people just walk the last 100km, which is required to get the certificate. It’s a great experience,

My buddy did it solo. Met a Canadian flight attendant that he ended up dating for a while. She was kinda crazy.
