Anyone here use Natural Family Planning?

I’m getting married and they enrolled us in a course on this.
Louisiana being a very Catholic state in many parts, has anyone used this method before?
It’s basically tracking your wife’s fertility cycle and planning sex accordingly without contraception.

We sat through that before we got married for the Catholic church.

I have a cousin who's a deeply devoted Catholic, her husband moreso goes along with it. She's vocally against birth control, and is vocally in support of and tells everyone they use(d) natural family planning.

Get the church you attend to sign a contract that if it doesn't work they will foot the bill for the numerous children. At least float the idea and see how it goes over. Report back.

We use it, and it's perfectly fine. You have to abstain for basically a week every month, depending on your wife, so it requires a bit of self-control and communication. But honestly, that ends up helping our marriage overall.
Also, for everyone on here acting like it doesn't work, you may be confusing it with primitive rhythm methods. NFP is pretty solid. We've been married almost ten years and have yet to get pregnant when we followed the rules.
