I’m thinking a semi-formal event and family from across the country coming into town. 50-75 people likely.
Any tips? Did you hire a party planner?

Post a write up in “casual encounters” on Craig’s list. She would enjoy that

The OT's wives never turn 40.

Take her out in your plane and pull a pinochet. Time to get a newer model baw.

One of the younger guys threw a surprise party for his wife turning 40 just this past Friday at the bar where they both play darts in league.
He was in there hanging decorations when I arrived and was going to head out to pick up the food he had ordered for the party. He also had a Karaoke DJ on hand so people who can't sing can give it their best, or worst depending on how well they butcher songs.
I didn't hang around for the party even though he did extend an invitation when I walked in.

I threw a 29th birthday party for my 40 year old wife...it was hilarious. Every one was like no she's forty not twenty-nine. While me and her kept the charade going through out the night.

Chicks don't like party's that remind them they're getting old.

My wife went to New York with her friends for her 40th. I got to stay home and drink so it was a good weekend

I did, but I failed miserably.
We went to a restaurant that she didn’t like and turns out, she knew her friends were all going to be there.
So to sum it up, I didn’t listen to what she really wanted all these years (for her 40th) and I brought her to a type of cuisine she doesn’t like. So to sum it up, I didn’t listen.
And apparently, I still don’t. I mean well, but I just suck most of the time.
