I know a guy who built a scaled version of the USS Constitution in a bottle. I have no where near the patience to accomplish anything near that.

I think I've seen this in movies with rich men, and or psychopaths.

Painting each figurine with a magnifying glass.

I thought about getting into it, but I have hobbies that are already expensive along with plans for the future so I dont really have the time. I have the money but Im putting it towards other stuff.

There are some spectacular ones I have seen done. Vietnam War, D-Day, etc. YouTube has videos of people doing them from start to finish and they are bad arse.

This one is awesome

Those are really cool. I painted a few miniatures for a board game but didn’t finish them all because it was too time consuming. I’ve painted a few concrete statues. I wanted to do some civil war ones but I figured they wouldn’t be that great.

It's relaxing, and depending on your setup sociable.

The plastics I do up for the kids don't need a primer. Don't have to worry about ventilation.

Just quality time on a rainy day after they get bored of games and wrestling and settle in with cartoon Network or w/e movie just got for the 100th time.

Plus less cleanup than making wooden toys and puzzlesm

I love this stuff but I'm not artistic in that way. I am artistic in the "fart noises" genre of art.

Scale modeler here. love dioramas but don’t build them, just not my thing. Last several projects include a 1/12 F-16 cockpit, 1/20 McLaren MP4/8, and a 1/350 Nimitz build that took three years to complete.

But most of my time is consumed with finishing my Warhammer 40k stuff.

For the Emperor!

I've been modeling since I'm a kid. Mostly 1/35th armor and 1/48 aviation. Enjoyable hobby but can get pricey. Was mostly a hand painter till recently I invested in an airbrush set up. Game changer. I'll never be as good as some of these cats but it is a relaxing and rewarding hobby. Tend to run out of space for the finished product.
