Job offer...Milwaukee area with the possibility of moving to Madison area in the future. After adjusting for cost of living I’d only be coming out slightly ahead of where I am now.

From my limited experience MKE seems like a decent place, maybe even slightly underrated...I hate the cold and would have to hope that I can get used to it. Just wanted to get some opinions of anyone here with experience living up there...can’t be many but I’d bet there’s a few.

If you live in Louisiana, they are definitely smart making you that offer to move to Wisconsin in late June.

A buddy of mine went to school in Madison and loved it. That's about all I got.

A friend went to live in Madison. Never heard from him again.

You'd probably be miserable half of the year tbh.

Like most cities, there are good areas and bad areas. Avoid the bad areas.

lived about an hour from there for a year and I half, no getting around the cold, but it's a pretty cool state, lots of outdoor stuff to do, and beer, beautiful summers, all kinds of festivals, concerts, and beer, big German population, and beer, I didn't mind it, good beers there too

I was in Milwaukee once on a business trip and the only thing that really stood out to me was there were hardly any good looking women and everyone is fat as hell.

All I got.

No, but I have lived in Czechoslovakia. It's pretty much the same – You zip in, you zip out.

BTW, you should probably go in a heavily armed recreational vehicle -

That's what I was expecting honestly. But I just didnt see it. Though, the only thing I did outside of the hotel was a Brewer's game.

a Brewers game at the old County Stadium was a hell of a good time, first place I'd ever seen tailgating for a baseball game, and I mean real tailgating, and the friendliest people you'd ever meet, you couldn't walk through the lots without getting stopped and offered a beer and a brat, or whatever was on the menu, the ice fishing was a trip too

ETA: went to a game at the end of the season when I lived there and it snowed Brewers were out of contention and people started to leave, my buddy and I worked our way down to the "front row" with Euch and watched the rest of the game in the snow, by the last out they were about to call the game because the field was white, no way we were leaving

Our office is headquartered in Madison, just outside of I should say. Very nice place in the summer/fall. The lake is a huge draw and if your into fitness that’s all the people do up there. Biking, jogging, etc. They have good food and dining and of course you can get a beer anytime, anywhere. It’s very clean. Some talent from U Dub and pretty liberal.
On the downside, I’ve flown in to visit in January it it went from this great outdoor utopia in the summer to looking like the movie Fargo in the blink of an eye. And it stayed that way until May.

first thing that stood out to me in the old neighborhoods, there is a bar on every corner, the neighborhood watering hole, it's usually tied into the house the owner lives in, every corner
