I lived in Cleveland for a year. Once you get used to the cold, everything is fine. Don’t let that be the reason you don’t go.
I spent 6 months in Cleveland on and off a few weeks at a time for 2 years. That place was depressing. And I live in BR. I have a pretty high tolerance for the cold too.

Lived in Wisconsin near Green Bay for over 20 years and its not only the cold that gets to you but the lack of sunlight during the winters. Did spend quite a bit of time down in Milwaukee where my SIL attended university. A lot going on during the summer in Milwaukee like Summerfest and if you're into country music, just head up HWY 41 to Oshkosh for Country USA.
You'll never get used to the cold but you will just have to learn to deal with it. Getting a good jacket, boots, hat and gloves is half of the battle then you will need make sure you have a vehicle with heated seats and steering wheel.

Country USA.
And country thunder and Hodag and a few other big ones. Summerfest is pretty heavy country too.

My dad has been a snowbird for the last 20 years so he's getting the best of both WI (up by Eagle River) and FL.
Went to camp in eagle river. Lots of snipe and updates hunting.
Ex-wife’s family had homes up in boulder junction.

Former non-native MKE resident.
It is absolutely an underrated city, especially with the boom of young professional living development over the past decade in the downtown area.
Downtown is nicely organized and well developed. I used to call it Chicago Jr bc it's only an hour+ north and so much less chaotic and congested.
Your biggest issue will be the winters. It can be brutal. It's the sustained cold over months that really gets you. In many cold climates you get breaks, in MKE those breaks are very rare if at all in the winter.
The mild summers really are wonderful. Nearby Door County and the many lake options in that region are a treat in the warmer months.
All in all the state of Wisconsin is a great place and sort of like a more educated, less obese southern state in the sense that there is quite a bit of charm and loyalty in the smaller towns.
I have many friends who have remained in MKE to start families.
I also have a few friends who bailed for warmer climates.

Ojibwa? Kawaga?
My family's place is on South Twin Lake.
I was a boat driver/ water ski instructor for years at Camp Birch Knoll, so i just lived up there in the summer with my brother and my buddies would come up to visit. That did not suck.

worked there for over 7 years for a client.
IT is cold- Did I say it is cold?
Milwaukee is nothing to write home about, Madison is cap city with a large gay population
Beautiful state, wonderful summers, you get four seasons but when winter begins - early Oct- it will stay cold until the end of April
You get sub zero temps and that is not wind child, be prepared for 15-30 below - Jan and Feb are abusive.
Would I live there again? Nope would visit in the summer- beautiful state parks north woods are pristine.
If you don't like frigid winter you will get cabin fever fast

I’m guessing you need a block heater too?
And I’m guessing no one loves the pizza farm video? I stumbled across that a couple years ago and have watched a dozen Wisconsin Foodie videos. He goes to so really cool places.

If you drive a diesel then it is highly recommended.

You're exaggerating winter. October average high is 59.

Also was up at cass lake in bemidji.
Instructor: I can imagine. I had the opp, but I was a lifeguard/swim instructor at the community pool in FP.

Grandmas side of the family from there. Have family in Madison. Like others said the talent on attractive women there is slim at best. Madison is ok. The suburb areas north of it are nicer. Don’t know much about Milwaukee. The cold up there is cold. If you don’t like cold you aren’t going to get used to it. Hell my cousin has a cabin in northern Wisconsin and he asked me to go snowmobiling. I was like how cold is it? He was like minus 10 degrees. That’s a no for me dawg.

There’s a mix of nice sweater weather days in the beginning of the month but she becomes a cold count towards the end.
To the OP: If you’re going to live up there make sure to join a Polar Plunge, they’re fun!

I’ve been there a couple of times. Brother in law rents a house there every July and we pike and walleye fish. Has a bar/restaurant that has great cheeseburgers. Don’t remember the name. It was in the mid 40’s a couple July’s ago last time I went. Great place.

You should cut back on those. You may be gaining too much weight for your husband.

And mine was a girls camp. So think college aged female counselors. We would always party with them and they'd sleep at our place on their nights off after an evening of getting drunk.

If you have or will have kids, move to Wisconsin.
