Anyone here have experience with battery powered lawn mowers?

Recently bought a new house with a smaller yard and need to replace my current mower. I was considering getting a lithium powered push mower but do not know much about them. Do they have much power? Durability?

I’d stick to gas personally. Electric lack power as the battery dies. So you don’t get a good cut for as long. Also you need a good size battery to make it through even the smallest yards unless your yard is very small and simple

Dunno about lawnmowers but my 40V battery powered trimmer and leafblower have been awesome. I use two batteries to complete 1 acre
I'd be inclined to buy an electric mower if I had a smaller yard.

I have a self propelled Ryobi. It cuts fine, but make make sure you have multiple battery packs.

I have the trimmer, blower and lawn mower and I think it’s great. Definitely has the power to get the job done also is not very loud. I highly recommend it. Get the EGO brand.

We have EGO (f/ Home Depot) electric mower (2 years), blower (5 years) and weedeater (3 years). Our climate is semi-arrid.
I would highly recommend these products. You can have almost talk over the mower and the power is just right.

This is what I was considering. How long of mow time do you get out of a battery? Also what model/price point do you have?

I have a tiny yard (<0.25 acre to mow). Use an electric Kobalt mower.
It was great out of box. Easily mowed the whole yard on a single charge (almost twice over), and the power output on those batteries doesn't drop as the charge gets less. It runs full bore til it's dead. Almost zero upkeep for the mower itself.
However, the battery didn't survive the first winter break. I stored it as prescribed but from the first mow of the season the battery would not last the whole yard. Had to buy a new battery, and those suckers aint cheap. Second battery only lasted one season as well.
Unless battery technology changes significantly and they have longer lives (very possible) my next mower will likely be gas.

Second. I have the mower and blower.
One battery is more than enough to do the front and back yard, and I'm on a little over a quarter of an acre. I got the self propelled one, but in hindsight I'd just get the regular. It's not that heavy of a mower to begin with so easy to push.

We have three interchangeable EGO batteries (mower, weedeater and blower - 2, 3 & 5 years old) that are holding up great.

There’s some bearded hipster across the street with an electric lawn mower. I wouldn’t be seen dead dragging that thing around my yard. Call me old fashioned.
