Just finished my idea and put it into AutoCAD for uploaded and sending to have a few prototypes manufactured.

Has anyone been through the patent process? Seen their idea produced? Have any tips?

I've done as much of an exhaustive search as I know of the patent database online and have produced no similarities. Of course a patent lawyer would have to be retained I'm sure to dig through it more so than I have.

If youve produced your item, do you sell it yourself or did you sell outto someone else?

Am I doing this right?

I've designed some fricked up shite that works. Never thought about making a patent. Maybe I should rethink my life.

Hope that helps

If you are asking on here then you have no concept of the numerous issues involved in production, inventory/warehousing, marketing, sales, etc.

Sell it to someone and count your money. HINT: Whatever it is, unless it is a one in a zillion idea, isn't worth a third of what you are thinking while you read this.

My boss did. Multi-millionaire now with a big company he owns. I work for a side business he has and just finished a prototype of another idea of his that he plans on getting a patent for. Not sure what he goes through to get a patent. I know this isn't much help to you but he followed through on one of his and it changed his life.

I'm working with a licensing company to market the idea to manufacturers. In exchange, they own 10% of the patent, with no up-front out of pocket cost to me. However, if the licensing agreement ends prior to them getting it licensed, the 10% reverts back to me.

Shark Tank wants you to have an established business with your product. If you can prove that you have enough in sales that you don't need them, then they are interested.

If they have to make more than a few phone calls to make millions, they are not interested.

Did you call my friends at Invent Help?

Don't, it's a huge scam.

Start manufacturing and selling your widget, if it so successful that someone decides to copy it you have probably already made a fortune and the competition will be the least of your problems.

This isn't a get rich quick scheme. I am well aware of the failures of such... But if you don't try you never know.

It's why I'm asking around. I do know invent help is a fricking joke.

Currently wrapping up a feature film. Hope to begin entertaining offers over the next 1-2 months. If not, I'll be selling it myself "territory" by territory.
