GJ was an actual judge in Arkansas who would post a bunch of shite he shouldn’t have about what was going on in his court.

The biggest instance was exposing that Charlize Theron had adopted a black child privately in his courtroom.

Besides getting exposed professionally, someone looked into his donor history and found a large donation from a business whose case he worked and who has had gotten a favorable judgment. That ended up leading to a corruption investigation that sent him up the river.

I thought they were making him do all, or almost all of his time.

I am also just guessing that he is in the minimum security part. That is common, unless someone with power has it out for you.

He reduced a jury award by millions and was given thousands in campaign donations for it.

Yeah the posting on TD was a huge ethical lapse, the legal hit beyond losing his job wouldn’t have been too bad.

The whole bribery thing however...

He probably would have gotten a shorter sentence but apparently some stuff went down.

Maggio was removed from the bench over his Internet commentary. Federal prosecutors were already working then and, eventually, Maggio pleaded guilty to bribery — reducing the verdict in return for the contributions. No one else has been charged and Morton and Baker assert their innocence. Maggio, however, not only failed to cooperate, he didn’t deal honestly with prosecutors. His deal for a lighter sentence was withdrawn and he got 10 years. He’d waived an appeal in his initial plea and the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals wouldn’t let him take it back. He plans further appeals.

What was his connection to the OT? How did he end up here? I remember him posting.

Wonder if he goes to the library and lurks the OT on an old Macintosh.

That I don’t have an answer for.

His background was that he had spent a lot of time in HS and college in MS and AL, then ended up in AR, so it may have simply been crossover from SEC football.

He's in the country club pen. I doubt it's really all that shitty. Edwin Edwards served his 10 and came out married to a hot little piece of arse. How bad can it be. You know, other than being in any other prison?

Hopefully he’s not in the same system as Big Herc and Wes Watson. Although his wig looks quite splittable.
