I’ve seen a few studies lately that show it’s relatively common to have long term symptoms, up to 1/3 of people that have had Covid. And 15-20% of people under 40 had some type of symptoms that lasted longer than a month, whether that is loss of smell, chronic fatigue, or something worse.

Is he sure they aren't calling something else "long covid?" Those symptoms seem pretty different.
The doctors do not know what it is. It just is how he has been since having a fairly mild case of the virus. He has the typical no wind and fatigue issues too.

My Dad had COVID in December he now has headaches every morning.
A buddy's wife had it July couldn't smell/taste anything until November.
Both are pretty healthy.

And some people will still tell you that taking the vaccine is more dangerous than catching the virus.

If you ACTUALLY aren't overweight and healthy Covid isn't dangerous.
If you are 29 BMI in your 50s and supposedly not overweight like a posters friend then yes, Covid is dangerous

Will you STFU with this shite? There are 1,000s of documented cases of people with normal BMIs suffering from long COVID.

And there's 10s of millions of people in that classification.
It's terrible that they are dealing with that, it sucks. It's not a reason to have the world shut down 14 months later though. People get moths long symptoms from mono and the flu and bronchitis and other ailments too

Where in this thread was anybody talking about shutting shite down?
Maybe I missed it.
I don't think we should shut anything down. I also think anyone who actively chooses not to get vaccinated because they think they have a low chance of dying from COVID are missing the boat.
I don't think I'd die either but I don't want 6-month symptoms or longer. Vaccine side effects lasted 12 hours. Worth it.

Some people choose to sit on their arse when they are sick. I like to go for a run or workout. Can’t let the virus win. You’d have to cut my legs off to stop me from exercising

In the grand scheme, you are certainly correct but there is a small subset of people that get long haulers that break the mold on who should have COVID issues: elite athletes.

Or it could cause some sort of unknown long term side effect. Get it if you want to, it's your choice. I'm becoming more comfortable with the idea myself. But I'm in my 20s and healthy and haven't gotten Covid yet to my knowledge despite extensive travel and being out and about.
Both of my parents got the vaccine as they should have, but I personally think there's less unknown with the virus than the vaccine. Your mileage may vary.

Pretty much every doctor in the world disagrees but hey, you do your thing.
There are way more people with long COVID than any with vaccine related issues.

That's fine, this is America. If I get long COVID or die I'll be sure to come eat my crow.

Not really relevant to my situation unless you can say the same thing using my demographic.
It's like you people live to be scared.

So he was morbidly obese and is now at a healthy weight.
I wouldn't call 6'4" 170 a healthy weight. I don't care what any chart says, that's skinny as hell. People at the same height can support different weights and still be a healthy weight, but being that tall that isn't a weight one should want to be at.

I'm young and overweight but otherwise healthy....only thing that lingered for me was loss of taste and brainfog. I had COVID in September.....loss of tase was about 3 months and I feel like the brain fog still makes returns

Steroids suppress the immune system. A lot of weight lifters struggle with Covid. Not saying it’s so, just pointing that out.

6'4 about 175. You people are disillusioned.

Me, my wife, and about 40 people I know had Covid and it was minor with no long term issues.
Posted on 4/5/21 at 3:59 pm to TeddyPadillac
It's thin, maybe about 15-20lbs less than "ideal" for that height. But I'd rather be 15-20lbs less than ideal than 50-55lbs more than ideal.

could be something else unrelated to the actual virus.
Like depression.
