My friend is relatively young and in good health and he has been dealing with constant fatigue and waves of sickness since his Covid infection in December.

Anyone here with similar experiences? Have you gotten better? Has anything helped get over the sickness?

A friend of mine who is thin, eats healthy, and exercises is struggling with this. It is sad to see.

MY buddy who is in killer shape and weight trains every single day got it and it really fricked him up. 4 months later and he is still having breathing issues. He can't run and exercise as fully as he could pre-covid, and sometimes he struggles with sleep. Pretty sad to see. Covid fricks with some people pretty badly. I luckily was asymptomatic when I got it and haven't had any issues.

Im not being a dick, but I bet he's 20-30 lbs overweight if you have the same definition of not fat as the rest of the OT

Not sure why I'm getting downvoted. There's a post about 3 under mine claiming 6'4 240 is just a little overweight.

And that's why so many "healthy" people have gotten really sick from Covid.

A friend of mine has it. He's in his early 50s, a little overweight, but not obese. Non-smoker, doesn't drink, walked regularly.

He's lost 70 pounds, feels nauseous all the time, and has a hard time keeping anything down. He also has vertigo to the extent that even with a walking stick, he falls several times a day.

He was telling me of having to go to the bathroom to throw up late at night. Didn't want to wake up his wife yet again, so he crawled to the toilet, then crawled back and slowly climbed on the bed. Took an hour.

The doctors don't know when or if he will get any better, or what to do.

My sister has been complaining of constantly being out of breath and tired since she had COVID after Christmas.

Her sense of smell and taste also still hasn't returned.

But she is also overweight, so

Idk if you can call it long Covid but my sense of smell hasn’t returned, and i have occasional coughing and heart palpitations. I haven’t been to the doctor for it because there’s nothing to be done, but it’s annoying. Age 40-ish, BMI is 20, exercise 3 times a week.

No, that was where he was before he got Covid. He's about 6'4" and is around 170 now.

One of my best friends is experiencing it. 40, swam at vtech... still works out, doesn't smoke, rarely drinks. Of all my friends it surprises me a little honestly. I had never heard the term until 4-5 weeks ago. I was busting balls about getting in and donating plasma when this phenomena was sprung on me.

One of my best friends dealt with it for nearly six months. He still has some lingering issues, but it's a lot better. He's not endurance-athlete skinny, but he's not fat, either. Your normal dude that goes to the gym several times a week and doesn't eat like complete crap. Mid 30's with no previous health issues.

Is he sure they aren't calling something else "long covid?" Those symptoms seem pretty different.

I had super minor symptoms that went away in a few days. However, after all the coughing was gone, I had a weird tightness in my lungs whenever I ran or exercised. Often times forced me to stop early. Maybe I was out of shape but Ive been out of shape before and this felt different. It lasted about a month after the other symptoms went away until one day it just stopped

So he was 30 or 40 lbs overweight at least.

And I'm really not trying to be insensitive, but the lack of awareness of what is overweight in this country is damn near as bad as the epidemic itself.

So he was morbidly obese and is now at a healthy weight. Got it. Sounds like he has other issues going on, though. Has he seen a GI?
