Is oatmeal allowed?

I'm guessing it would be, considering it's high fiber content.

On Keto? No it’s wayyy too high in carbs. Also on Keto you don’t need to ingest any fiber. Fiber is a filler material that we can’t even absorb. On a ketogenic diet you are eating foods your body utilizes at an amazing rate unlike a high carbohydrate diet where fiber is necessaryZ

correct, which is why i said likely. I based this on an average adult male which makes up the overwhelming majority of this forum.

That's why I asked. Fiber is the natural enemy of cholesterol, and plant proteins are good for the gut microbiome.

I need to read the keto thread.

Not if you eat green and/or leafy vegetables instead of a pound of red meat.

Plants are actually one of the worst things for your microbiome. They are pathogenic for lack of a better term. They have tons of anti-nutrients especially lectins.

Eating meat and vegetables isn’t sustainable?

Yes. As long as you don't go crazy with red mean, sausage and cheese you should be fine. Salad, chicken, fish, nuts, veggies, etc...

Not eating starches like rice, pasta, no grains like bread, pizza, oatmeal, no legumes like beans, no sugar/sweenters, n no alcohol, no fruit is not sustainable long term.

As far as I know, there isn't an online calculator that properly adjusts for metabolism.

When I was in my early to mid-20s, a normal day was >7500cal for me. I never gained weight, but I was physically exerting myself 8-10hrs/day. Using an online calculator maxxed out on exercise level, it would suggest I eat around 3500/day to maintain weight.

Up until the past year and a half, I was able to eat 4-5000cal/day and not gain weight. I've gained like 12lbs since then. Using a calculator, I'd have to cut back to 2500cal just to maintain weight, and that's way off

Not great Keto choices but as long as you can work it into your macros they are okay.

Most of us are not top-tier athletes. Their nutritional requirements are different.

That is an insane way of thinking. Saying the medical profession is wrong to fit your narrative is hilarious.

It’s not insane, it’s science-based. Unfortunately, most doctors are not on the cutting edge of science.
