Anyone gotten a lifetime alignment from Firestone and would you recommend it?

Looks like it's only the price of 2 alignments but wasn't sure if they try and add on extra fees or whatever I may be missing whenever you take it in for your future alignments.

TIA

ETA: in fact, I can't recall the last time I've gotten one, rotate every 3k though

Do it...here is the deal.

They will align your car, but will tell you that you need X part. Have them align it, anyway. Check out your car. If it needs X part, install it yourself (or have someone cheaper do it), then take it back to Firestone to be realigned under the lifetime plan.

Every time they align it, they will tell you it needs something. That's how they try to make money on it.

Honestly I have not been to a Firestone in more than 5 years, but they were always too expensive to me once I began shopping around. Same can be said about Pep Boys.

Yes, and yes. Assuming you keep your vehicles for more than a couple years anyway.

No extra cost to get the alignment done as many times as you like. They check it every time I go in for an oil change or tire rotation.

Lifetime alignment is literally the only reason I take a vehicle to Firestone.

I go to Chablis. Alignment, balance, tire rotation, and tire repair for life. Rotation and tire repair apply to all the vehicles in your household not just the one you buy a set of tires for.

I have it. Do the alignment at lest once a year when they rotate tires.

One vehicle we had it on got totaled after only one alignment. Mentioned it in passing when we brought the new car in and they transferred the lifetime deal to the new vehicle free of charge.

They change my oil for $25 and it's right next to my office so that'd be my reason. If anyone wants to recommend basic auto services in new orleans though I'm all ears if y'all have someone cheaper. I have Firestone tires so they also rotate mine for free.

Firestone is notorious for ripping people off, I had a battle royal with them years ago when they charged me $900.00 to fix a FUEL PUMP and I didn't even make it home before the car died again.

They fixed the wrong thing but refused to refund my money
I got it back after going to corporate and spending 40 hours on the phone.

frick Them - the free shite is to get your car in so they can find 20 other things you need

Yes. Did it on a suburban I owned for 19 yrs.

Walk in.
Order your assignment.
Give them instructions not to inspect anything. Something like this:

"Please align my vehicle. I will be back. When I am back please do not tell me that I need to replace anything. If anything is broken when I come back you will replace it at your cost. Thank you very much."

You chuckle with them.
You walk out.

We have it on my wife’s Accord. It’s more than paid for itself over the past few years. I’d recommend it. I had it on my old beater Sierra before I sold it and it was great. Anything I had the change (balljoints, bushings, etc) head on over to Firestone after.

the place where I get my oil changed is very cool with me but if my wife or daughter go in there they'll try to upsell them to almost rebuild the engine every time, with pretty newish cars

I changed my rack and lined my tires up with chalk. Anyway I bring it to pep boys to get an alignment and it's worse off now. The steering wheel is to the left. Alignments are easy. Im kicking myself for not just spending $100 on the alignment plates from Harbor freight rather than having to chase down pep boys to redo the job.

Left to right is easy. Toe in and out can be a bitch.

I haven’t needed an alignment on any vehicle either, not even my first truck that I got in 2005 which was a 72 Chevy.

My current 2014 Sierra has 150k miles and hasn’t needed one. Still rides like new and straight as an arrow

The wife (no pics) has this and the warranty on her tires. She's used them a lot and Firestone is great about accommodating the free work when needed.
