Just curious if it was very muddy. Think we may head over today.

Nope. I’m not an overweight 72 year old wearing a Hawaiian shirt and a straw hat, so I wouldn’t fit in.

Muddy in spots but avoidable. Should be better today. Don’t wear flip flops.

it’s amazing that this still has to be said.

It’s even more amazing that 20% will still be there in flip flops

I had a streak of 10-yrs in a row of going to Jazz Fest (now long broken).

Every year it rains. And the next day is muddy. Like can smell it muddy. Sun rising in east predictability.

No flip flops on high.

A Nirvana cover band could write a song about going to JF after a big rain event: “Smells Like Horse shite”.

Pass in general but specifically after the recent deluge.

Good luck to anyone who goes. Nice weather day.

It was drier than I expected considering I was there Thursday and Friday (hell rain). I didn’t get any mud on my shoes yesterday—today should be fairly dry.

The first time I went to Jazz Fest was in 1978.. I was 14 and had $20.. Paid to get in and eat.. Even was able to get a couple of beers.. I left with a few bucks in my pocket.. I just checked and tickets range from $99 for local Thursday and $149 other days... I think the last time I went was around 1997 and tickets were maybe $50+..

Yep No real issues with mud.

The problem with the crowd is that walking the walkways is a HUGe pain in the arse, because so many idiots don't stay to the right. Constantly running into people head-on. And it takes twice as long to get anywhere because of it.

A little earlier for me, but similar experience. It was OK to bring in an ice chest back then and most would pull one of those kid's "Little Red Wagons" with the ice chest in it and filled with beer, sodas, sandwiches and snacks.

Now, it's all about the almighty dollar and how they can separate you from as many of them as possible while there.

I haven't been in decades, and have no desire to attend in the future.

December-April: Horses are running.

June-July: Hot as balls.

August-November: Hurricanes and football.

May is the only time they can have it.
