Hit us around the first of the year. Daughter and Wife were struggling. I never came down with it to a point that I missed work or anything, but it took me like 3 weeks to completely fight it off.

I think I did it was pretty rough. Went OLOL urgent care they swabbed me and said covid. (no surprise) but it was an argument as they didn't want to prescribe a steroid, zpak, and cough medicine. At that point I suggested a reduction of the charges by 50% as they really did half the job. I got the prescriptions.

Probably. Several folks in the ol' lady's family have tested for it in the last week, and I've been around them. I'm just going to pretend that I've had a hangover for a while because I'm getting old.

My whole house got it. I’m a week in and still coughing. Ran thru my kids high school and he brought it home.

Last time I took the flu shot was in 2017. I also had the flu that year. That was the worst case of flu I had ever had. After that I never got another flu shot.
Worked at a shop where 90% of people got the shot and that was all on the same day. About 40ish people. Nearly everyone in the shop got it that year.

Tested positive January 24th..Tested negative last Friday, so a day shy of 3 weeks.
Take care of yourself. Plenty of water/electrolyte drinks,. Vitamins C/D3/Zinc and Elderberry . And Echinacea tea with honey.

My fever got up to 103*. Definitely kicked me in the arse for a few days

I really get tired of lectures about flu shots when I hear the same thing from everyone that gets a flu shot: “I got flu after that”. Then we’re told, “Well, thats just an anecdote “.
The plural of anecdote is Data. If you’re hearing it from that many people, then there’s something to it.

I hadn't been sick in 10 years until Monday. Everyone in our house except me had Covid during the lockdowns. The last 4 days have been brutal. Cough, sniffles, chest hurt, and the part that sucked for me was standing doing my business in the bathroom and springing a uncontrolled leak from the backside.

It's also targeted at certain strains that are projected months in advance. A vaccine for h2n1 ain't gonna do shite for h3n2.

I got influenza A when I was a kid.
Never got a flu shot, never had it again.
My dad gets flu shots and still gets the flu.
I did get sick off bad oysters once and that’s the worst I’ve ever felt.
