I've had shingles and it was the worst pain I've ever felt. It started in my armpit & I initially thought it was just a rash from changing deodorant so I ignored it for far too long. By the time I had it looked at it spread around my back and chest and I was in such immense pain even the air from the vents would cause it to hurt. I had to take a frick load of pain pills for over a month as the meds cleared it up. I still occasionally have random pains in my back that feel like it's about to kick back up.
Long story short, get the shingles vaccine. You really really don't want shingles.

I've gotten the vax. Never had shingles, but my son had a bad case of it a couple of years ago. He missed several weeks from work and was miserable with the pain.

I got the two shots. Have known adults with shingles and they were absolutely miserable.

Yes, Shingles is miserable.
Somehow, I got it at 34 or 35. My right chest, shoulder and arm if I recall. It SUCKED!
I considered getting the vaccine if I was going to be eligible but then it became obvious that our government lies to us about everything. Personally, I don't trust it and would not get the shingles vaccine even though I have had shingles and the experience is subpar.

I got shingles a couple of times and it wasn’t bad but they were small areas and didn’t spread. I could see where it would be really bad if a larger area broke out.
So I got the vaccine when I turned 50. Both shots made me feel like I had the flu for a day or so. If I don’t get shingles again I would say it was worth it.

I got the Covid jab and developed Shingles a few days later...that was 2.5 years ago and I still have shingles on my back...and it is bilateral which means its mirror imaged on both sides of my back.
If the Shingles vax works...by all means do it.

The wife and I have both had the shingles shots (and both of us refused the COVID vax).
The first one wasn't anything. The next one put me on my arse for a day or two. The wife experienced the same thing.
That said, from what I've heard from people who have had shingles, the pain from the 2nd shot is preferred over getting shingles.

I know people who have had shingles, so I got the shots. The first vaccine was only about 50% effective. They have a newer, two-shot vaccine now that is much more effective. The newer version can lay you low for a while. For me, my arm hurt for at least a week, but it went away. No shingles so far.

Second shot was a real mo-huncher!

Yes. Had the two shot dose series of Shingrix. No issues. Some people have soreness and flu-like symptoms, but not that bad and it went away in about 24 hours.
I had chickenpox as a kid, so the virus lies dormant within me, thus the reason to get it. I've had friends that had Shingles and they were miserable. Painful rash and blisters.
Don't think you want to FAFO with Shingles.

My neighbor called EMS a couple weeks ago, thought she was having a stroke. Couldn’t stand up or walk, nausea , vomiting and extreme headaches. They finally diagnosed her with shingles in her inner ear ! She’s still in rehab, learning to walk again. She’s 51 and was very active. It killed the nerve and she can’t hear from the affected ear .
She had the vaccine 2 years ago .

Got the 2 shots. Second one hurt a little more than the first one. No big deal. Family member had shingles and said "get the shot." I've heard shingles REALLY sucks. 2 shots is nothing.
