Is that one approved by the OT? I hear that it's miserable if you get shingles. Is the vax bad?

Well, how much research and how long was the testing phase for the shingles vax? Does the shingles vax actually work?

These are the differences, or you can be a very simple person and infer all vaccinations are the same.

When I was 48 I got shingles on half my forehead. Doctor made me go see an ophthalmologist a couple of times to ensure my eye was safe.

I caught it very early and they gave me an altered of all things and I have to say it worked. The pain is real, but I’d not say it’s the worst I felt. I would reckon it to the sensation of your skin that is being burnt.

I need to get that vaccine as I understand it can reoccur.

I've had shingles. It was on my back and side. It felt like a sunburn to me. That was in my early 20's. I got the 2 shot vaccine and felt nothing but some arm soreness.

So if shingles is just the reactivated chicken pox virus thats been lying dormant in your body, how does the vaccine stop it?

This seems like another one of those it may work it may not work. The damn virus is already in my body.

I had the chicken pox as a 35 year old adult. They sucked something awful. Some of the most misery I have had.

Planning on getting the shingles vax.

I had shingles last February. Hurt like hell! I asked dr and pharmacy about the vax and both said wait two months and get the vaccine.
About two and a half months later I got the first shot on a Thursday and on Sunday I had the shingles again. Bad but not like the first case.im still going to get the second shot, even if it gives me a light case. I don't ever want them again.
My advice to anyone is get the vaccine.

Had the one shot vax a number of years ago. I don't recall it being to bad, not any worse than a flu shot.

A friend in Asheville and her husband both got the vacines. A year later, she got shingles and suffered for months from it. The doctors couldn't explain why and she was not amused.

Had the shingles. It was miserable. Doc said it was unlikely I'd get it again so I skipped the vax. My brother went for the shot and it gave him Bell's Palsy for quite a few months.

I had it at the age of 34 and yes, it’s fricking terrible. Constant shallow pain with intermittent sharp pains for about a week.

Thing that sucks the most is that it can come back, and no doctor will get me the vaccine until I’m 50. Long ways to go.

Shingles basically killed my grandfather or at least started him down the long decline that led to his death.

I got the shots last spring/summer. I don't think an injection had ever made my arm as sore, but the other side effects were minimal.

I got the two vaccines and they make you feel pretty crappy. However, you do not want to risk getting shingles. That is a lengthy batch of misery you don't want any part of.

Just go get the vaccines.
