I just can't imagine having to hide drinking from my wife, but then I very rarely drink in excess and I'm a pretty happy and friendly drunk.

I come home loaded every once in a while from fishing etc. But I'm pretty sure she knows. She doesn't ask but I think she assumed I may be a litte tipsy

Jesus, this thread is sad. How bad is yall's alcoholism you have to sneak beers from your wife? I just walked in maybe 20 mins ago and have a beer in my hand that I got out of the fridge while my wife was cooking. Bunch of soy boys in here that cant handle their wife asking why you are drinking. "Because I feel like it" is the answer.

Why do you have to do it that way? I get loaded plenty of times, and the wife does it with me a lot of times. If we don't get too loaded, we then have sexual relations. If we get too loaded, then we usually have sexual relations in the morning... especially if it's on a weekend.

Not judging, just trying to help... retrace your steps and remind yourself how you got here.
Was the arrival of the child the game changer? (Wife insisted you stop getting loaded, she wants y'all to focus on parenting)
Did you enjoy indulging before the marriage, but promised to stop as a condition to getting married? (Wife never partook and doesn't want to live with someone who does)
Don't answer these questions in this thread, just be mindful of them. Their answers do not automatically prescribe a specific course of action; but they could help inform your decision on whether or not you want to change anything.
You can change the amount you consume. You can change your marital status. You can change what you consume and how you do it.
Getting rid of the secrecy should be a priority, unless you're getting more enjoyment out of getting away with it, than you do the from the buzz/effect itself. If that's the case, I recommend you buy better wine or whiskey or weed. If you're going to endanger your family stability over mischief, then make it worth it for frick's sake.

1) Be a functioning, friendly alcoholic
2) Find a woman who finds other parts of you to be enough to compensate for this 'ailment'
3) Have a high enough tolerance that sneaking a few nips or beers doesn't impede your ability to do shite.
