That is such A shame... The caring part is what bothers me the most.. I understand that certain things have to happen to keep the doors open, But even in good times workers are not appreciated for whatthey do day in and day out.... I am blessed to work for such a great company and the direct group of people I see everyday... It seems I spend more time with them than I do my own family and its pretty cool to be in a decent mood going to work everyday... I have been in a spot that it was just awful getting up knowing I have to go to work with those crappy people and conditions.....

I'm not. But the more and more I work for large corporations, the more and more I want to work for myself.

I'm not concerned about failing. I'm more concerned about continuing to work doing something that I tolerate, but not necessarily love.

So you are 39 years old and live in Dutchtown and you know me somehow... A tough one you are................Trying to figure where /when I have met you..... But it really doesn't matter since you have nothing nice to say about me anyway...... And to come up with the user name of Passingwind throws me off as well.......

i have 1 or 2 that i am planning on having a come to Jesus meeting with, and if they don't change with the quickness, i'm gonna have to replace them... but i'm gonna wait about a month to evaluate their performance... that will clear them past Christmas... i mean, i'm not a dick....

Passing wind is a play on words I named my boat. Seriously though I joke at you, but don't mean it to be hurtful. It's fun you not knowing who I am though earlier I even said glad to know you were doing well.

Edit: I'll drop a few hints at some point you'll figure it out quick.

My boss came to me today and left it up to me whether a guy under me stays or goes. I told her that he isn't cutting it but I'm not gonna be the guy who fires him the week before Christmas. He just had a baby. So we get to tolerate his shite for a few more weeks it looks like.

Not, but a handful of people that my GF works with are getting laid off.

Sucks this time of year.

What is it with you and people getting fired? This is the secon thread this week you've started on this shite.

Did you get fired? Are you gonna fire someone? Why are you dwelling on this shite at this time of the year?

The caring part is what bothers me the most..

At one time, companies had to care about the employees. Companies that treated their employees like garbage years ago, got a bad rap, thus had a difficult time with reputation, etc. So companies wanted to hold onto employees offering nice benefits like pensions, full health care, a lot of vacation, etc.
But since the economy has tanked and health care costs have gone through the roof, companies could no longer continue to hold onto life long employees, much less continue offering great benefits, etc. ( this does not apply to government jobs which do not have to worry about the bottom line due to politicians and voters) So cuts began, employee loyalty was lost and now we have a fend for yourself employee/ employer market.

Probably not the thread for it, but this is going to happen more and more in the future and it won't matter who is in office. Robotification of the workforce is imminent.

Anyway, good luck to everyone dealing with this stress. Hope you all find something as good or better
