Maybe even lie a little?

I have no doubt they are fine vehicles.... take my brother for example, he had a Camry that he swore was a tank, "never did nothin' to that car". Never mind that you had to get in the car from the passenger door almost Dukes of Hazard style, never mind that the power windows didn't work on 3 or the 4 windows.....the car took a right turn if you even thought about taking your hands off the wheel at highway speeds....I could go on but I think ya'll get the gist

All cars need repairs if you drive them enough.

I’ve owned all brands of cars. Routine maintenance keeps them all on the road just fine. Unlike the others a Toyota just doesn’t get “weird” on you after a certain point is the best way I can describe it.

Well, gotta be an idiot to never get tires rotated and aligned from time to time.

Have 95k on a 4runner with standard maintenance.

My in laws had 2 Toyota's north of 200k with normal maintenance.

They don't have as much technology in them, which helps.

My brother in law just bought a new GMC pickup, it was his first new vehicle in his life. Drove clunkers forever and finally in a position to get a new car.

Air went out at 5k, transmission already has issues 11k in.

Only major issue I had with a Toyota was the AC in a 91 Toyota Celica back in the day. Owned a 2001 Toyota Camry that I loved until some a-hole ran a stop sign and totaled it and luckily I am still around after ending up in oncoming traffic. That Camry took the blow like it was supposed to. We lived in Bama when we got it so we made sure we got the V-6 for the hills. That V-6 was a great engine.

After 5 Camrys and a Highlander, we believe they are very reliable.

And after two serious wrecks, we view them as very safe.

Your brother's mileage may have varied.

My Mom is driving around in a 20 year old 4Runner V6 Limited. The thing is a tank. Batteries, tires, and maintenance. That's it

I currently drive a 2001 Toyota Camry that was my Mom's initially. She sold it to my son, who just gave it to me when he purchased my Prius. He was aggravated with it after driving it for seven years because it would not die, and he wanted a new car but could not afford one.

It's ugly as sin, but drives just as well as my 2018 RAV 4. The air will freeze ya out, it has new LED headlights because a kid hit it in a parking lot and they had to be replaced, and a cassette deck so I can listen to 80's tunes.

Life is good. It only has 147.000 miles on it.

I’ve had mine for 23 years. 260k miles.

Manufacturer’s scheduled maintenance only. I replaced the headlights when they turned yellow, and replaced a seat belt when it got frayed.

Never ate, drank, or smoked inside. Only farted (but lowered windows as needed), so it’s still gorgeous inside.

Got a Ford ranger as my first vehicle, it needed transmission rebuild at 70k miles, it was totaled when it had 110k miles on it. Bought a Mazda and drove it for about 90k miles no issues. Traded it for a GMC Z71 and put about 60k miles on it before it needed a new short block. Have a Tundra now that has 174k miles on it and other than a thermostat at 160k it’s needed nothing but routine maintenance. My wife has only ever driven Camrys and we’ve put 230k on the first one, 45k on the second one before it was totaled, 80k on the current one, and both of my girls have Camrys with 35k or so miles on them. They’re great and the resale value is a big part of my buying strategy.

I had a Sequoia for 11 years - 300,000 miles - and all I changed was the oil, tires, and brakes. I never had a dashboard light come on, ever. No issues with any trim parts either. It really was durable.

My current truck is a Tundra. First Yota I've had. I don't really like it. It's currently in the shop for a parking brake malfunction. Despite the fact that I've never used the fricking parking brake. It just decides to do that for you.
