I would not stand a chance with a full grown tiger. Even with a spear.

You better have a shite-ton of poison dart frogs to rub that spear on, too.

You seem sure about it, do you know this from your own experience?

An apex predator doesn't lose to a lesser creature like us unless we have a firearm or something significant to neutralize every advantage is has on us physically and instinctively.

Dodge, duck, dip, dive, and dodge just like that ole lion is. I see a bunch of whiffs on that tiger's end which is how I would anticipate it going down when I face it in the octagon.

I actually did one time while hunting Sika in Siberia. We had shot a sika and had to drag it about 1/2 mile to the Jeep. 3 of us and a guide. We would take turns dragging 2 at a time. One time while it wasn't our turn me and the guide were walking behind my two buddies who were dragging. All the sudden the guide screams at me to grab my gun (I was carrying the only rifle). About that time a Tiger flys out of the chaparral and lands on the sika and my 2 buddies. Before I could do anything I see the guide with his pistol out shooting at the Tiger. He hits it, but also hits my buddy Anthony in the knee cap. The tiger turns and wheels on us. Next thing I know I have the rifle up and shoot, missing the tiger but finishing Anthony off with a bullet thru the sternum. The guide fires at the Tiger but the bullet richocettes off the beasts skull and comes back thru the guides eye socket killing him instantly. Then it's me, Sheila and stunned but enraged wounded tiger. I pick up the rifle finish the animal off before it can get to it's senses. Click. Click, click, click. It out of bullets. Sheila seeing my panick springs into action and goes for the guides pistol. Too late the beast regains its composure and slices her jugular with one swipe. Then he turns toward me. All I can think is I'm not about to die in this god forsaken Russian wasteland by some psychotic feline. He charges, I feint to the left then catch him with a right hook to the nostril. His nose explodes in blood red blood. He wheels around and eyes me with sudden wonder. I sense a moment pass between us of mutual respect. For a minute I though he might retreat. No such luck. Before I can blink he pounces and is on top of me. I reach out and grab his neck to try to slow the downward assault of his powerful jaws. Not such luck. The beast overpowers me. I roll out of the way just in time and her his jaws and powerful molars smash together. Then I see it. The bullet hole from the guides bullet in his rib cage. I knew that was my only out and I had to act fast. With all my might I swing at the bullet hole. For a split second I didn't think I had hit hard enough but alas my had burst thru the beast's rib cage and the warm, quivering sensation I felt told me that I was going to survive this encounter. The beast heart. I yanked it out at once. So quick that the beast didn't know what happened. He rolled off of me. Tried to rise, then crumpled to the frozen tundra.

For a second I thought you had actually gone on some kind of cool hunting expedition.

Then I read this.

I think I got a real shot, at least 50/50 provided I had a spear and the tiger doesn't get a running start.

not a chance.

Tigers are enormous compared to man. It would pounce on you and crush your skull with its jaws in seconds.

I used to think i could take a smaller black bear if i had a big knife. Then i came up close and personal wiht one that was trapped in a cage. It was about my size and took a swipe at me when i got close to the cage. Seeing those claws, and how quick it just swung while in the cage, i accepted the reality that i had zero chance against that beast.

I dont think your chances would be that much better with a pistol compared to a spear with the tiger.
Unless you hit it in the right spot and drop it immediatly, it's going to kill you in seconds once it gets a hold of you. It could take a swing at you with its enormous paws and literraly rip your guts out.

Does the guy jumping the fence in the second video remind anyone else of Colin Kaepernick?

If you don't think a ricocheted bullet thru an eye socket will kill a guide instantly then I don't know what to tell you.

Exactly.

If a grown arse tiger slaps you in the ribs...you're looking at some concoction of rib soup once you stop rolling. That shite would just destroy you.

Would a spear to the forehead even stop a tiger?

I rather have a sword than a spear in this situation.

Spears don't look complicated but like with anything else they take practice

Possibly with a spear, but I'd give the tiger the edge, especially if it's a full grown male tiger raised in the wild
