Bingo.
I'm not saying people are consistently fighting tigers hand to hand and winning. But there comes a certain point where prey is cornered and becomes dangerous. More dangerous than they had any idea they were capable of being.
Animals are all about cost benefit. If at any point it becomes more beneficial for that tiger to frick off, he will.
