If by spear, you mean a AR10 and three magazines.

And 200 yards, you MIGHT have a chance.

You seriously wouldn't have a 1% chance of winning that fight. The agile tiger would angrily dive at you. Nervously facing your own mortality, you'd fire a garbage shot with your spear (which you awkwardly wield) which brushes off the tigers arse. His claws would proceed to shred your skin like ripping a sheet of paper.

You wouldn't win if you had a gun.

Don't know what single combat is, but the answer is no, because I have seen what house cats are capable of.

Yes and no.

999999x out of 1000000, sure.

But maybe the tiger makes a mistake. And maybe you send the spear through his throat.

I had a bigger bear charge me up North in Pennsylvania and rather than run, my body's first instinct was to post up and let out the most inhuman roar I have ever heard and cannot replicate to this day.

That bear spun on a dime. Now maybe he smelled me shite my pants, but I would like to think I scared him.

Yeah, I've had a house cat sneak up on me and draw blood by biting me

The spear is irrelevant. How much PCP do you have in you?

How sharp is that spear? You really think in a mano a mano fight with a tiger, you're going to muster up enough strength to penetrate a tiger's layer of skin and fat in just the right way to take it out before it kills you?

Best answer is that there is no human on earth that can take out a tiger without a gun or other advanced piece of technology.

Yea, the OP is thinking it's like the movies where once the spear enters the tiger, the tiger will just drop dead immediately.

e. Jesus H that's a grizzly tiger, give myself 20/80 on one that size

You'd have less than 5% chance against a tiger half that size.

I think it's pretty arrogant to say no human on earth could kill a tiger without advanced tech. Surely there are some early humans who successfully squared off with a tiger back in the day. And when I say spear I'm not saying a piece of bamboo with a rock strapped to the end, we are talking high grade shite.

Right, it's not like you spear a tiger in the throat and then it's like, "whelp I'm dead now" and falls over. Its adrenaline would still be skyrocketing and would make quick waste of a now spearless human even while bleeding out.
