Anyone else think that Louisiana has way too many public universities?

For a state with around ~4.5 million people, you guys have way too many public universities.

Want to increase the value of a college degree? Stop making it so easy to get into college.

Want to cut costs for higher education? Start closing some of these schools.

Only public university in Louisiana that I see worth funding is LSU (though I'm biased because I'm an alumni). Am I wrong?

EDIT: The only two schools in Louisiana that most people outside the state will even recognize are LSU and Tulane.

Edit: in all serious yes we do. No LSU isn’t the only one worth funding though, do you even La Tech baw?

LSU - Ferriday? It would have to a music program and maybe public speaking/broadcast swindling as its educational niche.

Nsu has so much room for expansion. I'd be interested to see a study for consolidating uno and nsu.

I officially acknowledge the school in Monroe as the official University of Louisiana. but when you say "UL," I think of the University of Louisville tho
