Same song and dance every year...OHNOZ half our state is on fire!!?!

Mismanagement of forestry coupled with “green” incentives have caused this. Zero sympathy for these people.

Disclaimer: I also have zero sympathy for hurricane “victims” as well. They chose to live in that location and we should not subsidize their poor choices.

I’m not saying I hope you die in a tornado. Just saying that I would not have any sympathy.

Next time we have flooding, hurricanes, or tornadoes I’m going to remind you of this dumb arse post.

I take it you're never been affected by a natural disaster?

West coast has fires, gulf and east coast has hurricanes, Midwest gets huge tornadoes every year, blizzards pretty much cover the rest. Where the frick do you think all those people should live?

They can live wherever they wish, however they should not receive any federal assistance.

Most on this board have sympathy for the victims of natural disasters - particularly those escalated by inept government.

Would be a shame if your trailer was hit by a tornado.

You're conflating the victims of the fires with the people responsible for not taking responsible measures to provide adequate water for various regions. If the victims support the government in it, then it's a bit of an oxy moron, but there are many there that want lakes dammed up to make lakes but the enviornmentalists are concerned with the minutia and things that flat out don't happen. Think I read about a fish they were worried about going extinct. There are ways around that to keep the fish in existence AND provide reservoirs of water for the area.

Guy I know in Houston bought his house 40 years ago. They have developed the land around him and basically made his neighborhood below the surrounding areas and his property has flooded 2 feet over the last 3 years.

Yes I feel bad for him. At this point his property value is dick because the government has screwed them over severely at this point.

I have sympathy for them because fortunately I myself or family have ever had to deal with a natural disaster on the scale of Katrina or wildfires or large damaging tornados, but a lot of these people affected by the wildfires voted for the politicians and their terrible management so they do have some culpability in their situation. Wildfires can be mitigated to some degree with proper forestry practices which are not being done by the lions on the left coast. Hurricanes and tornados are natural disasters that can happen anywhere at certain times of the year so it is harder to blame that on government ineptitude.
