I avoid the beach 24/7/365. Nothing screams miserable more than going sit in the hot arse Gulf of Mexico sun and paying 1000s of dollars for such privilege for a "vacation"

What is expensive about sitting on a beach?

have to agree, he must be one of them tourist types that bring nothing and go sit by the tiki bar near the beach to buy drinks when he gets thirsty lol

Sitting on a hot beach is about as fun as sitting in BR traffic.
Y'all must not do it right

Why would you sit on the beach the whole time?

Am I the only one who is grossed out by swimming in lakes and dirty ocean water?

My wife loves going to the lake and can spend all day just anchored down. That gets old after an hour or two to me.

I might be in the minority on this.

Kinda agree. I'd rather have a backyard getogether with friends and fam for the actual 4th holiday but otherwise don't mind the beach during the summer. It kinda sucks the first day but you get used to it.

I'm sure the crowds suck during the 4th of July, or any holiday for that matter, but it's the beach. I don't care what month or day it is, I could be at the beach all day every day. I wish I lived on one honestly.

I went to Cocoa Beach years ago for the 4th. The water is brownish green and the beach is filthy. It smells like urine and every trailer park in FL had sent all their people there.

None for me, thanks.

I hope there is never an "end of the world" situation where you don't have access to pristine water, Susie. You'll be as good as dead on day 2.

Don't tell anyone but the absolute best time to go to the beach is October and November. The water is still warm, the weather is usually glorious with low humidity and bright sunshine. Not to mention it is very sparsely populated so when you have to or want to go anywhere it is hassle-free.
We used to do that 4th of July at the beach BS but while in traffic for two hours getting to I-10 seeing people cruise right in we got smart and quit that 4th crap.

I love the beach and I think the 4th in any beach town is hell in earth. Refuse to even consider it
