I'm gonna spend 5 hours on a boat in the middle of Lake Travis tomorrow. I'm pretty pumped.

Dang, I thought more people wouldn't like swimming in the lake. I guess I'm weird

I think it's just the sensation of not seeing my feet and knowing their are fish and snakes and shite under me.

I love a good beach or pool though

One of my sons is in Destin for the week with map's nephew. Took them 9.5 hrs to get there (usually about 6.5).

We'll spend the day at the Point at someone's camp.

Good enough for me.

I am just going to sit shirtless in my driveway with 12 pack of Bud... When it gets towards dark, I light some sparklers.

We usually leave about 4am. Cooler to travel and I sleep the whole way up there.

Like Yogi Berra said, it's so crowded that nobody goes anymore,

Holy hell! 11 hours.
It took me less than 5 hours on the Thursday before Memorial Day weekend.
I usually try and go to the beach end of May before it gets crazy.

I think the beach trip is a great value vacation. We live the condo spaciousness, being able to eat breakfast and some of the other meals there, and the pool and beach is easy and cheap entertainment.

I still don't get the people that go beach searching for the most seclude beach possible. I mean I understand someone maybe not wanting to be on this beach because it's too packed

But doesn't it defeat part of the purpose of the beach, to see, talk to, hit on hot pieces of arse and get to have fun with people, If you are on the beach 20 miles from civilization?

Same. My wife sleeps on most every trip outside the city limits of Lafayette.

No way I'm turning the wheel over to her so I can nap.

I guess it defeats the purpose if your reason for being there is to hit on arse. I'm trying to smoke this joint and maybe talk my wife into taking her top off. Give me an empty beach.

An inflatable kiddie pool would round out your scene nicely
