I'm coming in a little further west than you. We stop at the little shops leading up to PCB, we go to the Pier, have lunch and I usually wait to grocery shop for the week when I get there. That all kills time. Also, I've never had a problem checking in a little early. Worst case scenario, we can hangout at the beach.

I love the beach for Thanksgiving weekend, and haven't been to the beach for the 4th since I lived on in a beach house while in the USAF.

As idiotic as taking your mom out for brunch on mother's day. Go before or after but you're exposing her to the most frantic and disorganized dining experience every if you go on the day.
