Y'all have doctors that just hand out Xanax because you say you have a flight? I can't get mine to even give me antibiotics unless on my deathbed.
Someone answer me.

They probably recognize you as the weak, addictive type.
It's for your own good.

Oh I would love to John Madden it, but I have to work that early morning and be in Philadelphia by 4pm.
Already a fail. Philly by midnight.

Solid advice.
To build on this, if the flight has bad turbulence, rely on the flight crew to want to land safely so they can go home to their loved ones--piggyback on their selfishness, if they land alive so do you.
Thank them for the successful landing as you leave the plane.

Do some reading on aviation/flying/etc. If you understand how it all works it might help calm your subconscious.

I have both - fear of flying [don't even like airports or airline commercials]. Was fine as a youth until I was returning from a high school recruiting trip - landing at MSY. I thought the pilot was going to land in the marsh.
Closed in spaces, within the past few years.
Heights - since my childhood. We went to the State Capitol but was too short to see vertically. My grandmother placed me on her knee where I could see high up we were.....TOAST -- BURNT TOAST

One thing I love about my company is they'll give me a full travel day even if I'm just driving 3 hours.

Around three years ago, I developed claustrophobia
So when I was a teen/twenty year old and probably to fifty I had no second thought about crossing a Mississippi River bridge or the Port Arthur Rainbow Bridge or the Lake Charles' bridges. But sometime about ten years ago I started dreading going over bridges. But I decided to get my wits about me and just cross the damned bridges. It was a stupid phobia.
So I feel your pain and understand. Maybe you can get your wits about you.

I don’t have a phobia about flying. But I’ve grown a loathing for it and avoid it whenever possible. I use to enjoy flying, but it’s become an exercise in both physical and mental torture.

The shitheads on the plane scare me way more than the notion of actual flight.
ADD.
Flying is fricking super rad.
Helicopters, whatever.

No. Just need's to take a deep breath and get on the plane and go. Pilots on the plane want to make it to the next place and then home.

oftentimes claustrophobia overlaps with agoraphobia and cleithrophobia and/or isn't even claustrophobia at all but one of the other two. I developed this as I've gotten older from being in a bad car wreck and getting trapped with it on fire.
Two valium and I still could barely make it through an mri. It's not the enclosed space as much as it is the phobia of being trapped with no way out, irrational as that is.

Eh, no. I am claustrophobic and being next to the window is a good way to lose your shite. Isle is way better. Also, get isle and Exit row. Or pony up for first class. Bulkhead is better also.

Valium sucks. Xanax goes away too quick. Klonopin is the best of the benzos and doctors are much more likely to prescribe than xanax
