When you board, ask the flight attendants for the “ Arthur Lundeen special”. It helped calm him down.

The easy solution is a klonopin or xanax (don't consume alcohol) prescription.

Klonopin lasts longer so try to get that if you can.

Your fear of flying is a common issue so your doctor will likely prescribe one of the above.

I would bring a book, music, movie.

Let the people your sitting with know of your anxiety. That might actually calm you down.

Like they say: you're more likely to die on the way to the airport than flying

Have you watched that video of the plane crash in palm beach?

Can you afford to upgrade to first class?

It's a lot less stuffy in those larger seats where everyone is behind you out of eyesight.

They'll often offer cheaper upgrades when it's getting close to the date if first class isn't full yet. I've done it for anywhere from $99-$199 plenty of times.

In March of 2025 I flew for the first time in 9 years - I was so anxious I almost threw up on the way to the airport - my husband offered to buy me a drink at the bar and I said no. I ran into the pilot and he seemed like a nice enough guy. Then I saw the co pilot was a woman and I almost went home.

But I made it and flew again in November of 2025 and again in February of this year. It’s great!

I make fun of the woman pilot but on the way back from Ireland in 2016 - we had a Muslim pilot and I thought ‘well at least I got to see the homeland first’

Start seeing a behavioral therapist. Even if like once a month. It sounds like it’s more significant than just flying and you’ll face claustrophobic situations beyond flying again and again and you’ll start restricting your own activities out of avoidance. You aren’t alone, you ain’t crazy it’s rooted in stress/anxiety and can be helped with counseling.

If you've never been an anxious person and it came on at a later age, it's worth getting in depth lab work done. It's possible that it's something as simple as a vitamin deficiency or hormonal imbalance.

In the short term, Xanax or the airport bar (but not together), watching a favorite and/or funny movie on the plane, playing a game that distracts you (I like Sudoku), gum, mints, just do something to occupy your brain.

Only when I was drinking. Taking off would really churn up my stomach when I was hung over. It felt like I was about to have a heart attack.

9 years of no drinking later, nothing.

I had a smoke show woman pilot a couple weeks ago, mid flight she came out the cockpit and took a big ole shite stinking up the cabin. Didn’t look as attractive coming out

No way lol. That is awesome.

How long of a flight? What kind of savage shits on a plane? Use the restroom at home or hold it.

I knew what was coming when she asked the flight attendant for coffee bags before she went in

They didn’t help

That’s hilarious. Very observant.

When she unlocked and walked out you should’ve yelled out “yo did you just shite in there mama?”

yes, years ago i developed a major fear of flying. since i had to take an importand trip to Ireland i knew i had to do something. so. i saw a psycologist (sp) that specialized in phobias and it's amazing what she did to cure me. she convinced me it was a matter of control. i couldn't even ride in a car that someone else was driving. any way she convinced me that i should not be the one controlling that plane (wasn't that hard; i wasn't a pilot). she made me go to th airport daily and simply park near biy and watch planes take off and land. this lasted about 1 to 2 months. it leterally cured my fear of flying. now i'm still a little nervous before take off (this was 30 yrs ago) but after we take off i'm fine. i even watch the landing now and enjoy it. anyways, get a pro's opinion.

ps. i'm stiill nervous about other driving
