Gas. Everyone is looking for it, and practically every place that has it has lines AT LEAST an hour long. I passed by three stations in town a couple of hours ago with lines like I described and headed to a little convenience store/gas station about five miles out of town. I only had to wait behind one car at the pumps there, and I was busy patting myself on the back…until I got to the pump. Every place in town is between $2.70 and $2.80/gallon. The little place I went to is always just a few pennies more or less than the places in town. Not today. $3.39/gallon for regular. I filled up because I had to have it, but this place won’t get any of my business in the future. The greed of people who do this to their customers in a time of great need sickens me.

I paid $3.38 this afternoon. But I'm in Chicago. I guess that is their regular, everyday price.

Don’t really care if they do or don’t, it’s the principle of the matter.

Have you seen the price of gas cans? A 5 gallon plastic can is $25!

I’d happily pay an extra $.60 / gallon if it meant avoiding an hour long wait.

Price gouging is one of those strange economic supply and demand balancing acts that tips people’s emotions. Generally, I find most are against it. I’d rather have price gouging and pay the premium if it’s something I absolutely have to have.

Price gouging laws should all be repealed. We wouldn’t be dealing with so much of a shortage and hour long lines if the market could price fuel fairly.

this...the problem with the gouging is like in Rita 15 years ago and gas stations had card board up over the prices and instead of the 2.00 it was day before it was 6.00 written on a card board sign. And it was back roads trying to avoid interstate backup but back roads where also backed up and didn't have a choice. That shite is inhumane !

You chose to pay more for the convenience of not waiting in line. That is not gouging.

Get over yourself.
