Not sure I really suffer from it. I love my caffeine.

can all just go ahead and agree right now,

that there is time and a place for decaf coffee- and it's never and in the trash.

I have read that people who are ADHD (which I probably am) can at times have reverse effects from caffiene. But, if anybody has any advice I would greatly appreciate it!

Raises hand - I have ADHD.

Caffeine has a calming effect on me. I can drink some an hour before bed and it doesn't prevent me from sleeping.

Benadryl is the same thing. Hypes me up instead of putting me to sleep.

been working solo for about 21 years so coffee is very much just part of breaking the monotony of being by myself for most of each day

Well said, "breaking the monotony." I find that if I'm traveling in the afternoon say over 30 mins, even if not tired and don't need a pick me up, I still grab a cup of coffee to break the monotony. I hate to say I'm dependent on the shite (makes me sound like a drug head) but maybe that's exactly what's going on.

I will probably drink 36-48 oz. of diet Dr. Depper or Coke Zero or something like that per day.

Crazy MFer beside me at work is an off-the-boat guy from Ireland. He loves him some tea. I can handle regular tea and green tea without too much trouble. But this dude brought some Irish Breakfast tea....... Wow. Stuff must have been concentrated caffeine.

why are you trying to break the addiction? caffeine is extremely healthy for you and has plenty of studies showing it lowers all cause mortality.

Drink coffee or get caffine pills and drink water all day. Much better than soda or energy drinks.

I use to drink coffee all day when in the oilfield business. Quit for about thirty years.
Now I drink a pot of black coffee starting at 4:00 AM. I go to bed by 7:00 PM and am just fine.

Drink green tea. It has half the caffeine as coffee plus loads more benefits. It'll help you cut back without the side effects of cutting caffeine completely. Caffeine is fine in moderation. It shouldn't be cut out completely anyway.

Diet soda is the worst thing you can drink.

Doctor once told me I'd feel better if I gave up alcohol.

Stopped drinking for 6 months, felt no different, so I went back to drinking booze.

But I'd be a frigging wreck if I tried to give up coffee.

I definitely drink too much coffee but I switch to decaf in the afternoon unless I'm buried and working late. Not a big soda guy.

I don't know if that is addiction but when I'm swamped at work I am sometimes in awe of
my coffee consumption.

Caffeine isn't great for you, but I drink 48oz of coffee almost every day. Sodas are a lot worse than that, so I'm comfortable with my choice in coffee.

Caffeine is a drug that's good for you but consume it from coffee and not coke or monster drinks.
