Shot with 12 gauge from 20 ft. The barrel was removed, so only reason I am here. We were kids and the mother ran into the room and the guy with the gun blamed it on a speaker blowing.

As a seven-year-old in the Carrollton area I was playing cops-and-robbers at a neighbor's house when my friend shot me through the neck with his father's .22 pistol. The bullet went in the front and exited the side and severed a jugular vein. I almost bled out but after six weeks in the hospital I went on to lead a long and non-productive life.
As a wee thirty-four year old I was robbed at gunpont in Lakeview when I foolishly attempted to disarm my assailant and was grazed in the hand. My action caused the shot to enter his female accomplice's arm and they both took off running. Later that evening she was in the bed next to mine in Charity Hospital.

I see your location as Houston but was this in the NOLA area? There was a poster here who though I think was IN the home when it happened -- his buddies were shot.

Yeah, with as many vets and wanna be bad asses on this board as we have, I assumed we'd have more than one guy post that he was shot by a combatant... I'm Air Force, so no, I haven't been shot. Dodged some mortars and rockets, but not shot.

Yep! Mickey Thompson 45 cal unloaded a 30 round clip aimed at my head from 50 ft away in the road in front of our house. I ducked, took a jacket in my left arm, and managed to dodge the rest of the bullets. Hospital notified the cops who found the 45 cal casings in the road. I laid low for a good while. I may still be laying low after 45 yrs.
