We weren't cool enough to ever see one of those. A few poor kids had Huffy.

I had 2 bikes...

1979 Redline MX II (color: red) with Redline flight cranks, neck, forks, and V-bars with Araya 20" rims.

1981 Redline Microline (color: chrome) with Redline flight cranks, neck, V-bars, Z-rims.

Every kid in the neighborhood was a BMX bandit. Among us we had Rodger DeCosta, Redline, Mongoose, Hutch, Cook Bros., GT, DiamondBack, Race Inc., and a few others I can't recall (it's been 35 years!).

I mowed lawns and spent it all on my bike until I was about 12.

We used to race at the track on the Westbank.

I have that song "Send Me and Angel" on my workout play list.

the better song from RAD was "music that you can dance to" by Sparks.

Bart and the Twins dancing is awesome.

I remember kids talking about Cook Bros. like it was a Bugatti. We had numerous brands but that and no one had actually seen one. It was always someone's friend from school whose cousin had one.

Haha same here. Cook Bros was a mythical beast that we all were aware of but no one ever saw. Kinda like the NeoGeo video game. Which I still don't know if ever existed but I believed was awesomeness.

I raced for 15 years.. Most of my racing was when I lived in Texas. Raced armadillo downs quite a bit.

I used to work at Bike Zone in Hammond in the mid 90's and I can remember when he was like 8 years old practicing all damn day.
