Down from 205 to 187 since Thanksgiving. Did keto through the holidays which was rough but now doing a hybrid regime of cal/carbs/IF that may be a little slower results but much less dietary restrictions. 180 is my target, may reassess once I reach it.

I’m doing a combined intermittent and longer fasting approach. I eat one meal a day on M, W, and F and on Saturday I eat a little bit more loosely. Down 10 lbs in two weeks (yes I know it’s mostly water).

I’ve had success with this plan before but terrible habits brought me back up. Looking to incorporate fasting into future lifestyle for maintenance.

You're on a diet right now. It may not be a diet that promotes weight loss and keeping it off, but it's a diet.

I agree on the lifestyle change thing though.

That seems harsh, and unhealthy. You have to be really disciplined to live with that misery and stick to it. That's why most of that stuff doesn't work long term. There is no simple, quick long term solution.

Age, with a slowed down metabolism

That's a myth. Studies have shown your metabolism doesn't slow down more than about 5% as you age.

You just move around less

Quite the opposite. Fasting and 1 meal a day is pretty optimal. Controls hormones and inflammation.

Lost 11 lbs since right after Christmas. Feeding in an 8-10 hour window. Eating nutritious and started exercising in spite of injuries. Great podcast by Dr. Rhonda Patricking interviewing Dr. Satchin Panda, on Time Restricted Feeding. It is a lifestyle eating system that really focuses on time restricted eating based on enzymes released from liver every 12 hours based on when you first have coffee or food each day. 12 hours for maintenance and 8-10 for weight loss. If you eat after 12 hour period it really messes up your body and all it's systems.

How do you lose 7lbs in a week and a half?

Either you’re very fat or on meth

During your first week that's mostly water weight.
