I just weighed in this morning and I’m down 10.5 pounds since New Years. Following some running app that I probably could do on my own but the structure and plan is good for me. Also doing MyFitnessPal for calories and cut out drinking except I had a couple glasses of wine at work dinners last week. It may be all mental but I feel better and am sleeping pretty good.

What benefit did it have to begin with- other than pleasure? What happens if you have a moment of clarity later and realize you simply enjoy drinking? Do you start again? Deprive yourself of the pleasure cause there is no “benefit”?

What eating 1,000-1,500 calories worth of healthy stuff in that one meal? And when you say, "if I quit drinking," do you mean alcohol?

If you are eating a pretty crappy diet, and switch to eating well, you will lose a quick 5-10 pounds over the first few weeks. You are losing a lot of water weight, from all the extra water your body was holding on to from all the garbage you were eating. After that, you'll hit a stall point where you are only losing a pound or so a week.

I don't watch what I eat, I eat one meal/day but definitely drink too much wine. I definitely am not healthy

I'm not really on a specific named diet. Just making better choices, and watching calories and intake of protiens/fats/carbs.

Same here. Basically what I have had to cut out are sodas. Been drinking bottled water 6 days a week in place of sodas. Sundays I will go to the gas station and get a big gulp....

Down 4 lbs since I started this and I actually feel better overall.

I never really drank carbonated drinks. Water and tea are my only two drinks. I even cut out the tea now though, because I like mine really sweet. My biggest issue is drinking my calories. I put down enough beer on some weekends to make up 4 days worth of meals. I'm trying to cut down in that area, but I'll never totally cut that out. Then I cut out all the eating of crap in between meals. If I'm really hungry I'll grab carrots or something. Just cutting back on those two things alone do a world of good for me.

For breakfast I'm eating a banana or a whole grain waffle with peanut butter. I've been meal prepping for the week for lunch. So I always have something good to eat. Those two things usually put me only at 5-600 calories by the end of lunch. If I follow that with a healthy supper, ive had myself a solid day and usually have to eat an apple or something later just to meet my daily minimum.
