A really good kitchen knife (or two). I got these two for my mom this year.

Chesse Knife
Chef Knife

Last year I built her two 24" high raised garden beds and she loved them. The 24" tall made it easier for her to do things in the garden without bending over.

A _____ of the month club

Another great idea. I signed up for bi-monthly specialty cheese club last year and it was one of the better purchases I made.

My mom is older and can’t get out of the house much at all, so I got her a Bluetooth bird feeder that has a camera in it. She can watch anytime she wants from her phone.

She would always sit out on the porch and watch the birds, so my gift is pretty specific to my mom.

Both my wife and mother loved the Aura digital picture frames.

Also, my kids are grown, so for Mother’s Day a few years ago I got my wife and both of our kids friendship lamps. It lights up her day when she goes into the office and sees that it has changed color.

You’re mom just wants you to be there for dinner. Give her a kiss, tell her you love her, and thank her for being your mom.

Those ornaments will be cherished for generations. My husband turned me a pen one year out of a cedar tree from my grandmother's yard...amazing gift.

If she has young grandchildren get a skylight. You and your siblings can email photos of the kids and they pop up on the picture frame

My mom is the person I have the most trouble shopping for every year

This is us with husband's side. It is practically impossible to figure out what to get. Especially since they are big shoppers and in stores shopping on a regular basis as it is. And it's the same vice versa. They never know what to get us either, and saying "nothing" doesn't really work. But there's truly nothing we want or need.

My own family has stopped gifts entirely, and I can't emphasize enough how awesome it has been.

Even with godchildren it's tough because these days, kids are overloaded with gifts from family/Santa far more than it seems like we ever were. One year I went to my godchild's house after Christmas to give gifts, and he barely reacted opening them. Not his fault or anything! He was young. But also - Their living room was still covered in all the toys he had just gotten from relatives and Santa. My gifts were nothing compared.

My mom doesn’t like anything, she doesn’t need anything (she lives with us), and she hates gifts.

She’s getting coal.

I got my mom a heated vest because she always complains about being cold but refuses to turn the heat above 59 because she is too cheap to pay electric bill. She can afford to pay it she just refuses to pay it.
