The poor ol teacher salary is a ruse after you’ve been at it for a few years.
The starting salary for a teacher is pretty good. It's the fact that after 15 years, you are only making a few thousand more than a starting teacher, that's the problem. There's no distinction between a well established teacher and a new one.
Part of that is just the nature of education.

The real money is being an assistant principal. You can clear 90k and not have any real responsibility.
Where is this? My wife (no pics) has her principal cert and has held off on taking a AP job because the pay is like 15K more, yet you work more and have to deal with all sorts of junk. 90K and no real responsibility would be 40K more than she makes now and she would jump on that.

She scored a 35 on her ACT and majored in art history? She could have learned about that by reading some books and went to school for something that actually matters.

I'm in northern Va, you ever make it out to Chincoteague?
A long time ago. It was pretty cool back then.

Although overcast, it's beautiful here. Spending most of our time on Wallops Island.

Enjoy. It's probably a chilly day out there but lots of solitude I'd think.

I really don't know the details nor dynamics here, but on first glance, from your description:
- your uncle sounds like he was trying to bring an important part of his religious belief(s) and/or momentos into an Easter Dinner... which seems a pretty decent thing to do.
- your aunt sounds like a real unsupportive bitch
- your nephew sounds like a disrespectful little shite
There are certainly family dynamics missing and the opposite of what you said is true once you know the way the family views the Uncle.
My nephew is actually one of the most well behaved kids in the family. The comment was out of the ordinary for him which almost made it funnier to hear.

He brings his theatre friends to some holidays and they typically start talking feminazi/SJW talk about 5 mins after arriving
Well yeah; they're art people.
I have a neighbor that is into that art and theater stuff.
Thankfully they're conservative Christians and aren't psychos. That's saying a lot since most theater people are flaming lefties and many homos.

So a couple months a year she is pretty busy. But the rest of the time she makes sure the buses leave on time.

That's because leaders and citizens of Louisiana seem content with poverty wages for some reason.
My GF makes 45k plus she does after school care for 5 hours a week for an extra 5k a year. She clears 50k and has a few months off every year. It isn't a bad gig.

Well, she went on a rant about how Academy is sexist. She went to the store and counted how many clearance racks were in the men's clothing section and how many were on the women's. there were more on the men's so of course...discrimination and sexism towards women. There is no way that any of this has something to do with the shopping habits of women.
OR, the fact that more men shop at Academy, since it is, you know, a sporting goods store.
Some people don't want to learn or simply cannot be taught. They would rather continue to believe what they want to be true instead of risking that what they believe could be wrong.

so why are teachers always bitching about salaries when they make good money for working 7 months out the year

because most of them are women. Have you ever noticed how much a nurse who works 3 nights a week will bitch?

We have a saying in our family for family get-togethers... "don't stray from the herd."
If you stray from the herd and become isolated my mom will seek you out and you're stuck hearing all about her issues.

35 on the ACT doesn’t mean you have any common sense
Exactly. It can help you get into a really good college, but I always wonder what people mean when they say "that person is smart". What do people define as being smart? I have a relative who scored really high on her ACT (I think 32 or something), she had a full scholarship to LSU. She was majoring in accounting or something, but after her second semester she dropped out, had a kid and ended up graduating from Nicholls, which she had to take student loans out for.
So would she still be defined as smart just because she had a really high ACT?
