I live in bfe on a 6 mile road with 4 houses on it. Why would guys be way out here in the middle of a week day tying to sell meat when most people aren't home? If your job is a salesman then why wast time being 20 miles from town? Sure, I may have been rude but I also won't be an easy victim

A good salesman doesnt stay on the same roads that every other salesman out there goes on as well. You cant be afraid to turn down a random road and see whats there.

One of the best sales of my career happened bc I was ready to head in for the day and stopped in at a building I had passed 3-4 times a week for 2+ years. I always passed it heading to and from a heavy industrial area of town and never thought twice about stopping. I stopped in and when I went through the doors of their shop, it was like I hit a goldmine. Come to find out they said they rarely had salesman come by bc they keep thr building pretty locked up during the day and dont have a fancy exterior to indicate what they did. I ended up making an extra 1000-1500 a week commission for almost two years until I took another position with the company. Still the best cold call Ive ever done to this day.

I've never seen or heard of door to door steak sales. I'd honestly probably laugh at someone who came to my house with that shite. Not in a mean way intentionally, but more reflexive. Some things you just don't go cheap. Meat is one. Booze, Lasik and diapers to name a few more. It's all about the downside.

I had one of those guys show up several years ago. He looked shady. He said he was done for the day but had some steaks left over that he needed to sell and would give me a good price. Just told him I wasn't interested. He left without a problem. That is the only time it happened and I thought it was weird.

In my experiences, they usually have a schtick...Once it was, "Hey, funny thing just happened. I'm delivering an order for the guy across the street but he didn't have the money to pay for it today. Let me cut you a deal on a box of steaks."

They came to my house and wife bouht some while I was offshore. The next month they drove up and wanted to sell and I said nope. He says your wife bought some last time. I said ok. He opens every box of meat he had and is pitching it all and every time I said no, the price goes down. After 30 minutes I told him the meat wasnt good last time I dont want anymore. They never came back.

Wow.

I told him 3 times I didn't want any. He said it was high quality angus burger. I told him it looked like bologna burger. He still wouldn't leave so I got rid of him. Im sure he got paid. Technically he sold it.

There's a guy who sells meat out of his truck across from Daiquiri Cafe on South Sherwood. He stores the meat in ice chests.
