Put a water sprinkler out where it can water the underbrush near some trees. You'll get a ton of birds.

Theres birds. Probably hanging around bodies of water due to the excessive heat.

Plenty of birds at my house, and I have the bird shite all over the swing set and out door furniture as proof.

Wife and I put up a couple last year. Didn't realize how much I would enjoy them. Those squirrels though. Got one right now hanging upside down from the roof of a feeder going to town on that seed like Peter Parker on MJ.

I take it you don't go outside in the morning or evening then? Because I see plenty of birds early and late. They are smarter than people and actually try to get out of the heat during the middle of the day, so yeah, you aren't going to see them then.
