Own a company with these in the truck. Paid for itself with reduced liability when it videoed Mr. Worker drinking a beer while driving my truck. Don't like what owner does, quit and start your own business.

I don’t drive a company vehicle, but they do have cameras. They are constantly rolling, but only activate a save feature of 30 seconds before and 2 minutes after a driving incident like hard braking, a crash, or rapid acceleration.

I don’t, but I manage a fleet of truck drivers that use them. It’s definitely big brother watching.
I had my reservations when we installed them a few years ago, but I’ll admit it has changed their driving behaviors for the better.
When they get dinged for cornering too fast, rolling a stop sign, speeding or not wearing a seatbelt, it typically only happens once. I can’t remember any repeat offenders once I had to document coaching session.
Some of the stuff can’t be helped, like rough surfaces. Not sure why they log those as a violation.

I dont know your business, and its easier said than done, but hire better employees. That incident is as much your fault as it is his. Great employees don't need or want nanny cams. Shows a lack of trust and respect on your part.

I haven't heard of anyone monitoring them that closely. Usually they wait for the AI flag or just look at rolled up KPIs on driver safety and behavior. But i would switch my Pandora to censored versions only just to be safe

They tell us this too, but they absolutely can dial up any moment from any time the cameras are on if they want to.

I’d have to have “Someone Watching Me” by Rockwell on a loop if so.

When I come home at night
I bolt the door REAL tight
People call me on the phone
I’m trying to avoid
Well can the people really see me
Or am I just paranoid?

No camera but my work truck does have the little device that alerts if I go over 10mph over the speed limit though I don't think they bother saying anything until you get to 15+ over

Our dump trucks have cameras facing the road and the driver. Mainly people can't be trusted.

We had one driver flip a truck. We pulled the footage, and we saw him fall asleep at the wheel. He admitted that he was driving nights for another company, then driving for us during the day on very little sleep.

The cameras sense when the driver is distracted, and sends a message. We've caught people texting will driving, and just being general oblivious dumbasses.

People are not meant to be watched all of the time, it's unnatural and doesn't contribute to a positive workplace environment. The mental well being of your employees should be more important than slightly reducing liability. It sends the message that you don't trust your employees, and certainly will translate to them having a more negative opinion of you. I doubt you'd want a camera in your office for 8 hours a day, treat your employees with the same level of respect.

Owner doesn't trust you, or is a voyeur or both. Do you sell latex products?
