We eat a lot of either baked or pan seared fish, mostly Mahi and Tilapia. Yesterday my wife bought a pack of each. One pound of Mahi was $12, two pounds of tilapia was almost $13. I’m not going to change how I eat. But these prices are getting crazy

I don’t know if you have a Fresh Market, but they put the pecan crusted trout and the Parmesan crusted tilapia on sale on Thursdays.

Actually, they do sales on various things each day of the week. And each week they do a Little Big Meal which is a meal to feed 4 for $25. This week’s was very good.

What used to be 200 a week in groceries is now 300

The wife and I both put in $300 a month to our grocery jar. We pretty much spend every penny of it. Paper products are insane. I also kick in an extra $50 for bird and squirrel feed. Since we have no kids and grandkids I feel we're getting by pretty cheap.

We plan like crazy around what is on sale. We start making our grocery list Wednesday before the next week, since that's when all the grocery ads are circulated.

Plan so that we use ingredients to their fullest, whatever we make for dinners I will use what's left for my lunches. Ride the sales, at Publix a ribeye ON SALE is $11 per pound. Nope, but for Easter Publix ran a special for standing rib roast, 5.99 lb. We bought 2 and cut 12 steaks for the freezer.

Regardless, family of 5. We spend about 300 a week on groceries, which does include beer and wine for the wife and I.

Yep, now I just go every other day and see what's on sale / a decent price and make my menu based on that.

I shop where stuff is the best value,

We try to shop locally as much as we can within reason. We will do bulk shopping at WalMart (toilet paper, household items, etc, etc). Produce and meat will buy locally.

Steak. Once a week to basically never now.

My kids drink so much milk and it’s outrageous.

Gross

Plenty of fruit at all the stores I’ve been going to. Maybe switch it up from frozen burritos to fresh fruit?

I’m not buying bacon anymore, just too damn high

I haven't had bacon much in several years, but had a taste for some a week or so ago. I couldn't believe how much it had gotten to. It was $8-10 for a small pack. I can keep going without it.

Sandwich meat and sausage have gotten ridiculous. I've quit buying those.

Same. We just go look at what meat is on sale and plan meals around that.

I do the same. I plan my weekend grill long around what’s on sale. HEB always has something on sale and Randall’s will have a section of meat that is starting to darken, but still plenty good and they mark it 50% off. They stock that twice a week and I’ve found some really good deals.

Yesterday picking up crawfish and asked the price for large Gulf Shrimp. Got a price quote of 2 pounds for $20.

As all these businesses go broke, BlackRock will scoop them up for pennies on the dollar. Sort of like the 30s and the Great Depression.

As our standard of living goes down, down, down into a burning ring of fire, just remember the WEF promised us we would own nothing and be happy.

Not going to lie. I don’t look at prices. I get what I need or want.

I could pay the extra for our normal list without any problems with our finances. I'm just cheap
