look for candied Ginger at Kroger. My Dad swears by it and my wife said it was a big help during her pregnancy reflux.
It’s worth a shot for like a $4 bag at worse

I've dealt with it on and off for years. Losing weight helps, but the best thing is generic Prilosec OTC. You may want to take a month of Nexium at first, because it supposedly helps heal acid damage to your upper digestive area. Then you can switch to the prilosec. Mine seems to be triggered by onions, any dish heavy with tomato based sauces, and certain fried foods. I'm usually fine to eat spaghetti or lasagna if I make it myself, but some local restaurants versions trigger it. Domino's/Papa John's pizza doesn't do it, but Little Caesar's always does. Must be something in their sauce.
Also avoid eating dinner late, and avoiding dark liquor late helps too. If I'm having a bourbon or two, I always make sure to not have any past 8 or 8:30 since I usually go to bed around 10-10:30. A small glass of milk about an hour before bed helps too. Not too much, just like 5-6 oz and it helps calm things down. I also find that alka-seltzer stops it much faster than tums does when I do get a flare up.

Generic Protonix called Pantoprazole $10 for 90 day supply, my surgeon prescribed it after knee surgery and lying back in a recliner with knee elevated caused my first sustained heart burn. Been taking it for 20 years, for me works much better than any of the formerly prescription only OTC drugs.
The chewable Tums and similar brands are far, far better than the older dry chalky ones. I buy them when on sale, or the store brand and need one most nights before falling asleep.
My Dad and brother almost required surgery for their acid reflux, runs in the family.

Losing weight always helps.
I'm 180 now . Not eating due to this will defintly make me lose more weight.

Also, as posted above, a shot of apple cider vinegar puts the fire out ASAP.
Thanks guys for some of the advice. Guess a lot of us are dealing with this.

Dropped a bunch of weight and I haven’t had reflux in over a year, no matter what I eat. I also don’t snore, so the wife is happy too.
Same hear. And no Gatorade. For what ever reason Gatorade gives me acid reflux.

Those lists include every possible thing. You need to figure out what really triggers your reflux. My big one for example is tomato sauce.
I didn’t know what was causing it for a long while but have come to learn tomato sauce is definitely my #1 trigger too

I had an Endoscopy a couple of weeks ago.
I was told no coffee,no tea,no soda,no alcohol,no milk.
Coffee is the only one that's affected me.
Tough to wake up without 1-2 cups.
Good luck.
Things that soothe my stomach are Ginger Ale,Almond Milk, and Hot Tea,and lots of water.

I found that starting a probiotic helped a lot in addition to the standard recommendations.

Coming from someone with 2 upper gi scopes within the last four months. If it’s more of a gerd problem Pepcid combines with gaviscon chewables. If it’s acid reflux maybe nexium or Prilosec. I would recommend talking with a dr and getting a script to protonix does wonders. Really need to determine the problem as to the medicines attack different inhibitors

Get a prescription for omeperazole or pantaprozole. (Off brand of nexium). I take one every day almost. Only thing that doesn’t give me reflux is milk & bread.
Sugar, citrus, carbonation all bad

Take one generic Prilosec every morning and be done with it. Best thing to happen to me health wise in 10 years.

Cutting caffine helped me out tremendously.

If you sit all day, don’t. Stand up as much as you can. That plus al the diet, weight, and exercise stuff mentioned above helps a lot.

Starting that today! Will probably be water from here on out for a week or two see if that helps. Will start that with otc med as well. I was drinking a lot of orange juice thinking it was helping along with caffine drink every other day so seeing the acidity part now was doing me no favors.

Probably more to do with what contains the caffeine being acidic. A caffeine pill wouldn't give you acid reflux.

I take this and love it.

Dealt with it for a long time, then started taking Prilosec years ago and it disapeared completely. It was life-changing, and I was kicking myself in the arse for not starting it sooner. Zero change in diet. If I don’t take it for even 1day, reflux returns. My gastroenterologist prescribed a drug for it, and the Prilosec actually worked better so he told me to just stick with the Prilosec.
