Any way to stop/slow down the robo-texts?

I’ve been getting 4-5 or more texts to my phone per day and I take the time to block each caller, but they keep coming.

It’s more of a pain in the arse than obtrusive, but if there’s a way I can stop or even slow them down, I’d love to know.

TIA

I find that the ones for political candidates usually have a real person behind them that will respond to you. I like to take a few minutes out of my day to frick with them

Sara from the trump campaign hits me up all the time. They slowed down after I said the debate was a shitshow.

You have to text back "STOP", then block them. Has actually done wonders for me.

Your cell number has an email number attached to it. Like for AT&T, it’s your phone number @txt.att.net. So, 3375553423@txt.att.net.

You can change your email to text number to anything else you want and it should stop the texts. I changed mine years ago to my first and last name and the texts stopped. But I’ve been getting random scam texts lately so I need to change it again.

Edit: frick! AT&T now doesn’t allow you to change your email to text address. Those cocksuckers changed mine back to my cell number. That’s why I’m now getting fricking robotexts after not getting them for years.

frick you AT&T!

They've made cell phones simply devices to be ignored 90% of the times. If I don't know the number, no chance in hell I'm answering. THis is solely because of robo-calls.

Same. If I don’t recognize the number, you better leave a vm if you want me to call you back.

Not to mention every business making me provide my cell number to “protect my identity” for access to accounts these days. I love when they ask for my number so they can text me a code. Bitch, if you don’t know my number then how is sending a code to a random number verifying my identity? It doesn’t. It’s just a way to get my number in your system so you can use it for Marketing.

Having the same problem but also with automated calls trying to sell me something. It’s really annoying because it’s my work phone and I already get plenty of calls and text from customers and coworkers all day.

Some lady addressed me as Susan, and wanted my support for Kamala in the debate. I responded with a "You can go right on and frick yourself."

I like to tell them I’m a black woman voting for trump, Latoya used to have my old number and the Democratic Party love hitting me up. I tell them all my black family are maga now, they immediately take me off the call list lol.

Go to Settings > Messages > turn on "Filter Unknown Senders" (it's near the bottom)

It won't do exactly what you're looking for, but when you receive one of those texts, you will not get any sort of notification about it, and it will be sorted in a completely separate area of the messages app. Will look like this:

Think of it like a "Spam" folder in your email. You'll need to go in there occasionally and delete them all, but at least you won't be bothered all day.
