I’ve always wanted to go up in one of these. Seems like it would be a fun hobby.

God help you if you get a 10 mph crosswind gust on landing.

My first manager out of college used to go all the time. He would take people up and fly around for hours.

He walked away from two crashes over the 8 years I knew him. His wife made him install a parachute to the back of the cart, but he said that made it more dangerous since he couldn't control the fall.

By law he had to use it if he had a passenger.

They're pretty fun and very simplistic. You can learn how to fly them with about two minutes of instruction. The wind will scare the crap out of you

I don't have one, but I've flown them

I do ortho trauma surgery.
Those are some of the most tragic cases we see.
People actually fall out of those.
It is hard to fix them. About half die. Most of the rest never walk again.
If I were choosing for you, I would pick a different hobby.

Just get you a nicely restored Ercoupe. Pretty cheap too. They can be operated in the light sport category. Operates like a car, with no rudder pedals.

My friend's parents had a farm with a large pond stocked with gigantic catfish. So much fun with ultralight getting 5-10 pound catfish on every cast and fighting them for ten to 20 minutes.

I have the Benelli ultralight 12 ga. Been thinking of getting the 20 ga also. Good guns.

Some of you are confusing powered parachutes with ultralight aircraft, the two are not even remotely the same.

This or a Cub. Safest planes ever. They can just barely kill you.
